In my second preview for tonight's Champions League action I've covered 3 out of the 4 games on offer from Groups C and D as Man City will be looking to bounce back in Germany as they take on Moencengladbach while Atletico Madrid will fancy their chances of a home win over Benfica. There's a decent looking tie in Moscow where BTTS kings CSKA Moscow welcome PSV for their first home match of the campaign. I'm looking for goals and we could very well find them in 2 of these fixtures. Here are the "Key Facts" and "Suggested Bets" Group C 19:45 Atletico Madrid vs Benfica = Prediction 2.0- Suggested Bets - Atletico to win @3/5, Atletico to win to nil @13/10 , Under 2.5 goals @4/5 Key Facts * Atletico are unbeaten in this competiton at home since 2013 having won 9 of their last 11 home CL fixtures * Atletico have a stunning defensive record with only 2 goals conceded during that period * Atletico have only lost 3 of their last 53 Primera Liga and CL home games since 2013. Barcelona twice and Villareal are the only teams to win in that period. * Atletico have won 15 of their last 20 home league fixtures * Benfica have won only 1 of their last 12 away CL fixtures, winning just once * Benfica have failed to score in 5 of their last 7 away CL fixtures since 2012 * Benfica have won only 6 out of 34 away CL fixtures since 2003 * Benfica have lost their last 2 away league fixtures without scoring a goal Final Verdict - Home Win and a clean sheet very possible I can't see past a home win here with Atletico so strong and so solid in their own backyard. Benfica aren't the best of travellers, either presently or historically and I'm confident they won't get a result here and with Atletico so tough at the back, they can win to nil @13/10 as well with this a fixture likely to go under 2.5 goals @4/6 odds. Group D 19:45 Borussia M.Gladbach vs Manchester City = Prediction -2.2 - Suggested Bets - BTTS @4/6, BTTS and over 2.5 goals @21/20 Key Facts * Moenchengladbach have won 11 of their last 15 Bundesliga fixtures at home * Moenchengladbach have scored in 24 of their last 26 home league fixtures * They have scored 50 goals in those 24 fixtures * Moenchengladbach lost their first 5 fixtures of the new season, sacked their managed and have now won 2 in a row, scoring 7 goals and conceding 3 * Moenchengladbach have conceded 7 goals in their 3 home fixtures this season * Both sides lost their opening fixtures on match day 1. * Man City have scored in 28 of their last 29 away league games * Man City have scored in 10 out of 12 away CL fixtures since 2013. * Man City scored 2 or more in 7 of those 10 fixtures * Man City have seen BTTS in 6 of their last 8 CL fixtures * Man City have just 1 clean sheet in their last 7 away CL fixtures * Man City are without a clean sheet in 4 fixtures in all comps, conceding 9 goals in that period * City are without injured quartet Fabian Delph, Gael Clichy, Eliaquim Mangala and Vincent Kompany, while Wilfried Bony is doubtful. David Silva is expected to come back into the team Final Verdict - City need to win but goals are surely more likely Both teams look to play free-flowing, attacking football and this looks very likely to be an entertaining and potentially high scoring fixture in Germany this evening. The home side are coming back into form and they had a really fantastic record in front of their own support last season and they can make this a very difficult night's work for City who have struggled on the road in this competition, winning only 4 of their last 12 on the road. I can't pick a winner, and I wouldn't be surprised to see a draw in a fixture that should deliver goals goals goals. 19:45 Juventus vs Sevilla - Prediction 2.1- Suggested Bets - BTTS @5/6, Juventus to win @17/20, Morata to score anytime @15/8 Key Facts * Last season's beaten finalists Juventus are in miserable form in Italy, winning only 1 in 6 and losing 3 game so far to Roma, Napoli and Udinese while suffering embarassing home draws with Chievo and new boys Frosinone. * Juventus best result this season came in match day 1, winning 2.1 at Man City * Juventus have won 6 of their last 7 at home in the Champions League * 6 of Juventus last 9 at home in the CL have also seen BTTS * Juventus only defeat in 11 CL fixtures was last season's final to Barcelona * Europa League winners Sevilla are in equally poor form in Spain with just 5 points gained from 6 fixtures, the same total as their opponents today * Sevilla have scored 2 or more in their last 5 away European fixtures * Sevilla crashed to a shock 2.0 loss at Las Palmas in their most recent away fixture * 5 of Sevilla's last 6 away European fixtures have seen BTTS * Sevilla have conceded 15 goals in just 8 fixtures so far this season * Sevilla have yet to win an away fixture this season with their only win coming last weekend Final Verdict Both sides are really struggling so far this season but I favour Juventus here, primarily because of their strong record at home and also because of Sevilla's really awful form in La Liga. Despite their awful form, these two sides both won their opening fixtures in this group and they will take confidence from that so we should see a fairly open game but Sevilla are missing a number of important players and I quite fancy the Italians to get the points at 17/20. BTTS has a chance with both struggling defensively and I like the possibility of Juventus Spanish hitman Morata continuing his excellent form in this tournament. Morata is a big 15/8 to score anytime and if my memory serves me well, he seems to enjoy playing against Spanish opposition. Juventus have a fantastic stadium these days and I expect a really big atmosphere to carry the hosts to victory against a struggling Sevilla. Suggested Bets Atletico Madrid vs Benfica = Atletico to win @3/5 Moenchengladbach vs Manchester City = BTTS @4/6 Moenchengladbach vs Manchester City - BTTS and over 2.5 goals @21/20 Juventus vs Sevilla - BTTS @5/6 Juventus vs Sevilla - Juventus to win @17/20 Atletico vs Benfica - Atletico to win to nil @13/10 Atletico vs Benfica - Under 2.5 goals @4/5 Alvaro Morata (Juventus) to score anytime @15/8 Comments are closed.
