Scotland produced their worst display of the campaign so far on Saturday but it was still good enough to secure a point in Ireland that could yet prove crucial in their bid to qualify for a first major finals in 18 years. After a hugely disappointing opening 45 minutes, the Scots responded with a much better display in the 2nd half to claim a just about deserved share of the spoils that leaves them 2 points ahead of the Irish and just in touch with both Germany and Poland as the table above demonstrates. If Saturday was a fine day with some stunning winners, including an 8/1 tip of the Faroes to win, Sunday turned out to be a rare day without a single winning bet despite some decent predictions on the day and a decent number of winning selections.
Having won just over 5 points on Saturday, I ended up 4.77 points down for the weekend following my frustrating Sunday but I'm not really worried when you consider my excellent totals for both the month and the year so far. I've been taking it easy on the bets at the moment with work dictating that i cannot stay awake late to watch the Copa America but I have a vacation next week so I will be previewing the best of the action as the tournament reaches the knock out stages. The UEFA Euro under 21 tournament begins this evening with a couple of fixtures but I will look to analyse the first round of matches before committing to any bets for the subsequent matches. Here are my results for all the weekend's action. It was an excellent Saturday at bobreaksbookies with plenty of winners and profit including an 8/1 winner in the Faroe Islands and we have 1 more evening of Euro qualifiers to enjoy/endure as well as 2 more games from the Copa America later tonight as Brazil and Colombia get their campaigns underway as I look to finish the weekend on a high.
I'll post my results from yesterday later on today but for now, here are my previews for tonight's action including those 2 late fixtures from the Copa in Chile. Here are my best bets for a big night of qualifiers and I'm being a little bold with lots of doubles and trebles.
COME ON SCOTLAND! It's a crunch fixture in Dublin and in Group D as Scotland travel to Ireland knowing that a win will all but guarantee a 3rd place finish or better in the group while Ireland know that this match probably falls under the "must-win" category given the current standings in the group which sees the hosts 2 points adrift of the Scots and sitting 4th in a group also containing World champions Germany and Poland. I'm already hugely excited for what is going to be an absolutely crucial fixture in this year's qualifying campaign for the Scots as we bid to end our 18 year wait for a return to a major tournament. Here's my extra big preview for an extra big game. It's part 2 of my weekend previews for all the Euro qualifiers and Saturday's action sees the pick of the weekend fixtures for Bo with Scotland heading to Dublin to take on Ireland in a crunch fixture from Group D. I have posted a separate preview for the big game in ireland while there are 7 further qualifiers to look at as well, including a vital tie between Northern Ireland and Romania. There's Copa America later on in the evening as well and I will post a separate preview for those fixtures later today. It was a fine night again for bobreaksbookies as Deadly Double #1 returned 7.5 points of profit on a night where only Belgium's failure to score and a late winner in Iceland denied me a full house of winners.
Anyone following the 2nd deadly double would have been able to cover the bet inside 35 minutes with only Belgium needing to score and bookies offering 2/1 on BTTS "NO". I put 1 point on this to ensure my bet would either return 5.58 points of profit or no loss at all. Unfortunately the Belgians didn't turn up but if the opportunity is there to cover a bet, it always makes sense when we are looking for long term profit and this was an easy one to do. I was spot on with my correct scores in Croatia and Latvia, while I decided against backing Belgium having seen their price drift to evens. Unfortunately i went for BTTS and they couldn't muster a goal although they were denied a strong penalty claim against an excellent Wales side who deserved their win, and are surely now destined to reach their first finals in 58 years. Here are my results for Friday on a pretty good night for Bobookies. It's the first of 3 evenings of Euro 2016 qualifiers and while many complain about these International dates, I am actually a big fan, from both a betting perspective and for the excitement of watching all of our home nations competing to qualify and doing a fine job of it too.
Tonight's it's Wales turn but they face a stern challenge in the shape of a Belgium side packed full of quality and now at an all time high of 2nd in the FIFA rankings. I'm focusing on that game as well as Iceland's meeting with the Czech Republic and Italy's trip to Croatia. Here are tonight's best bets! The Euro 2016 qualifiers resume this weekend with 27 games being played from Friday through to Sunday evening and there are some cracking contests to look forward to including a crunch match for Scotland in Dublin. Of the first 9 games on Friday, Wales v Belgium catches the eye, as does Croatia's home fixture with Italy in Zagreb and I have previews for all 9 fixtures, as well as some of the other less appealing contests. Andorra v Cyprus anyone? I will post further previews for Saturday and Sunday in due course but in the meantime, let's take a closer look at all the action on Friday evening. It was THE most special of European Cup finals on Saturday evening in Berlin as Barcelona claimed their 4th European Cup in 10 seasons with a fabulous 3.1 win over a gallant Juventus side that brought home some very significant profit for bobreaksbookies following an incredible finale in the Olympiastadion in Berlin.
Here are my final selections for the Champions League final tonight. It should be a great game and hopefully plenty of goals as well.
It's the biggest day of the footballing season as Juventus and Barcelona put it all on the line in Berlin tonight with the European Cup at stake in the Olympiastadion.
Confidence is high here in Barcelona with plenty of locals suggesting it is more a question of how many Barca will win by, rather than if Barca will actually win but of course Bo is not quite so sure that it will be as straightforward as the locals imagine. Here is my big preview, prediction and best bets for the grandest game of them all. I've had a few days off since the end of the big leagues last weekend but I am feeling a bit annoyed about yesterdays results which I did a write up for but was unexpectedly called out of my apartment late afternoon and didn't have time to post. Below is the image of the fine winner that I have just cashed out this morning and my apologies for failing to post. For the site, I was planning 3 points on BTTS IN Holland and Scotland to win which would have returned 8.4 Points but unfortunately, life got in the way. Stupid life. I wasn't gonna write up the tennis tips to be fair, but I fancied BTTS in Holland and what a game it was with USA coming back from 3.1 down to score 3 late goals and win 4.3 in the Dutch's backyard while Scotland won a tame friendly with Qatar and the prized Qatar Airways Cup that comes with it. Ahem. I didn't get the chance to post a results round-up yesterday as it was a holiday in Barcelona but it's back to business today and it wasn't the worst weekend in the world with some small profit gained to ensure a 3rd successive winning month for bobreaksbookies.
On Friday i tipped up Amir Khan to win on points @11/8 and he delivered in an entertaining fight with Chris Algieri and Saturday was pretty decent with my football bets returning a 5 point profit but I lost 2.5 of those points on the boxing later on as Anthony Joshua dismantled his over-matched opponent Kevin Johnson and Kevin Mitchell was particularly unfortunate in his defeat to Jorge Linares. Sunday was a bit of a frustration as I tipped up plenty of winners and plenty of goals but Genoa's failure at Sassuolo cost me my 2nd deadly double of the day but my main bets at Sassuolo (BTTS and over 2.5 ) and at Napoli (BTTS) were both easy winners. I won't bore you with the details of all the results and bets once more (you can check them if you don't believe me!) from 2 days of bets, but here are my final totals for June. I have noticed in error in my totals for my trebles which I have now fixed, but the overall totals remain unchanged and from June onwards I will simplify these totals so that I stop making mistakes with my calculator! |
