It was another cruel night for Bobookies as PSG and Suarez's failure to score at the Nou Camp cost me both of my doubles as Barca claimed a 2.0 win thanks to 2 goals from Neymar. Meanwhile in Germany it all went according to plan as Bayern romped home by 6 goals to 1 to secure their qualification to the semi-finals having punished Porto with 5 first half goals. And Pep got so excited, he ripped his pants! It's been a hard week though for Bo and I need to get a winner soon or the month could end up negative and that simply must not be allowed to happen! We have 2 more games tonight as Juventus travel to Monte Carlo with a 1.0 lead over Monaco while Real welcome city rivals Atletico to the Bernabeu with the tie poised at 0.0 from the first leg. Here are my previews for tonight's action 20.45 - Real Madrid v Atletico Madrid - Prediction 0.1- Best Bet - Atletico to qualify @5/4, Atletico not to lose in 90 mins @17/20
I don't have the time for big write up's and these bets are based on history, form and gut instinct mostly. Atletico have lost just once in 90 minutes in their last 6 visits to the Bernabeu and with Real missing 3 key players in Modric, Bale and Benzema, I fancy that the champions will be making an exit tonight. Modric is crucial to the fluidity of Real and without the little Croatian pulling the strings it could be tough for Real to control the midfield and with no Benzema in attack, I can see an increasingly frustrated Ronaldo struggling to make an impact on Atleti's tough defence. Atleti have such spirit and strength under Simeone, and I think they can get revenge from last seasons final and my best bet here is Atletico to qualify @5/4. The bookies ALWAYS underestimate Atletico and have them at 3/1 to win in 90 minutes! do they not remember Schalke? or indeed any of the last 6 meetings between these sides in the Bernabeu? Of course Atletico don't need to win to qualify and I'll be happy enough if they draw but it's worth a point to back the away win at big odds. I like to go with my instinct on big games like these and I have every belief in the Atletico revenge narrative that can unfold here. Real will miss Modric and Benzema immensely, as well as Bale and I just have a feeling that we could be seeing Atletico in Fridau's semi final draw. BTTS has a chance, especially looking at previous meetings but this could be a tight affair seperated by a single goal and I fancy it to be Atletico who grab it. 20.45 - Monaco v Juventus - Prediction - 0.1 Best Bet - Juventus to win @11/8, First half goals, under 0.5 @5/4 Goals should be at a premium here as Monaco look to overturn a 1.0 deficit from the first leg. I'm not looking too much into stats and history but my instinct tells me that Juve will have too much quality for the hosts. Monaco have a great record in defence and most of their games are low scoring affairs and I can imagine them approaching this tie cautiously. It would not surprise me if this match was goal-less for a large portion before Monaco decide to open up and chase the goal they need but I don't think they will get it and I'm backing Juve to steal a crucial away goal to end the tie as a contest in the second half. Juve are 11/8 to win on the night and that's good enough for me but I'm gonna take a chance on a new market by backing NO first half goals @5/4. I really think Monaco will be happy to get to half time at 0.0 and so will the visitors and I anticipate few chances and a pretty drab opening 45 minutes here. I've come up with a single and 2 doubles for tonight, and here they are!
