In the words of Jose "I have nothing to say"Mourinho, we move on to the midweek football following a rather pathetic Sunday where nothing went in my favour and goals disappeared from Serie A. I will be reducing the midweek stakes given the inconsistencies of recent weeks but there are some good looking fixtures this evening with a full card in the Championship as well as 8 in the Champions League and I've picked out 5 of the Championship fixtures for my analysis and previews I will post a further preview for the action in Europe in due course but for now, here's what I've come up with in England. Championship
19:45 Sheffield Wednesday vs Brighton - Prediction - 1.1 - Suggested Bets - BTTS @10/11 Key Facts * Shef Wed have seen BTTS in 10 of their last 13 home league fixtures including 5 of their 7 home Championship fixtures this season * Shef Wed are unbeaten in 4 at home, winning 3 and drawing 1 * Shef wed are unbeaten in 8 league fixtures, winning 5 and drawing 3 * Shef Wed have lost only 2 of their last 12 at home * Shed Wed have kept only 3 clean sheets in their last 13 home league fixtures * Brighton have seen BTTS in 6 of their 7 away league fixtures this season * Brighton have won 3 and drawn 4 of those 7 away fixtures * Brighton remain unbeaten after 14 league fixtures this season and sit 2 points clear at the top and 7 ahead of Shed Wed who are in 8th position * Brighton have kept only 2 clean sheets in their last 10 away league fixtures Final Verdict - Tight contest but both can score @10/11 I see this as being a very close contest that is unlikely to produce a lot of goals but BTTS is big @10/11 and given both sides recent stats in the market, there is some value to be had with this selection and I fancy a 1.1 draw between two evenly matched sides that both have serious promotion ambitions. Wednesday are unbeaten in 8 and with 3 wins in 4 at home they will be confident of adding to their recent good form but Brighton are a tough nut to crack and they have enough about them to earn a point. ___________________________________________________________________________________________ 19:45 Burnley vs Fulham - Prediction - 2.2 - Suggested Bets - BTTS @8/13, BTTS and over 2.5 goals @1/1 Key Facts * Burnley have seen BTTS in 5 out of 7 home Championship fixtures this season including 4 of their most recent 5 * Burnley have lost only 1 of their last 11 Championship fixtures, winning 8 and drawing twice. * Burnley have won 5 of their last 6 home league fixtures * Burnley sit 3rd in the table, 2 points behind leaders Brighton * Burnley have scored 2 or more in 5 of their 7 home fixtures * Fulham are unbeaten in their last 5 league fixtures and sit 10th with 20 points achieved this season * Fulham have scored in 12 of their last 13 away fixtures * Fulham have seen BTTS in 7 of their last 8 away Championship fixtures. 6 of those 8 also went over 2.5 goals * 10 of Fulham's 14 fixtures this season have seen BTTS * Fulham have seen BTTS in 17 of their last 21 Championship fixtures * Fulham have scored 11 goals in their last 5 away league fixtures * Fulham have scored 22 goals in their last 10 league games * Fulham have conceded 2 or more in 4 of their last 8 away league fixtures with 14 conceded in those 8 fixtures * Fulham have lost 1 of their last 5 on the road in the Championship Final Verdict - BTTS looks good here Fulham are in good form now with 8 goals in their last 2 league fixtures and they are capable of scoring against an on-form Burnley side that are one of the favourites for automatic promotion. I expect the home side to have enough to get the win but BTTS looks likely for me so I'm trying that @8/13 while this game has a good chance of going over 2.5 goals with Fulham doing really well on their travels lately, particularly in the goals department and they might be good enough to sneak a point. ___________________________________________________________________________________________ 19:45 Derby vs Queens Park Rangers -Prediction - 2.0 -Suggested Bet - Derby to score 2 or more @4/6 Key Facts * Derby have won 7 of their last 9 Championship fixtures, scoring 17 goals in the process while they remain unbeaten during this winning run * Derby scored 2 or more goals 6 of those 7 wins * Derby scored 9 goals in their last 3 home fixtures, winning all 3 by a minimum of 2 goals * Derby sit 5th in the league with 27 points so far * QPR have lost their last 3 away league fixtures * QPR conceded 7 in those 3 defeats, including 4 at Fulham and 2 at Birmingham * QPR have only won 2 of their last 9 Championship fixtures while they have won only 1 of their last 5 on the road none of the last 4 Final Verdict - On form Derby too good for QPR I really like this Derby side and they are scoring goals for fun right now and they can score 2 or more against a QPR side that don't travel well either in this division or the Premier League and with 3 defeats in a row, they are unlikely to restrict Derby here. A home win is priced at 13/20 but I prefer Derby to score 2 or more @4/6 and I'm not backing QPR to score here as I fancy quite a comfortable home win. ___________________________________________________________________________________________ 19:45 Brentford vs Hull - Prediction - 1.1 - Suggested Bets - BTTS @5/6 Key Facts * Brentford have won 4 in a row in the league under new boss Lee Carsley with clean sheets in 3 of those fixtures * Brentford have seen BTTS in 5 out of 7 home league fixtures this season and in 11 out of 14 since April * Brentford have scored in 16 of their last 17 home league fixtures * However Brentford have only 2 clean sheets in their last 14 at home. * Brentford have surged up to 11th with those 4 successive wins and look like a new proposition under their new gaffer * Hull are unbeaten in their last 8 Championship fixtures, winning 4 of their last 5 * Hull are unbeaten in their last 4 on the road, winning 3 and drawing 1 * Hull have kept clean sheets in 4 of their last 5 league fixtures * Hull have scored in 13 out of 14 Championship fixtures this season Final Verdict - Two on form sides with goals in them Both sides are in great form and for that reason I'm taking BTTS @5/6 even if Hull have kept clean sheets in their last 4, and Brentford in their last 3. Looking at those stats, it could be a 0.0 or a 2.2 with both sides scoring goals and doing well defensively but Brentford are still an attacking side and they will push Hull hard and I see this producing a similar outcome to the Shef Wed/Brighton fixture where we have two form teams with the away side slightly stronger and a share of the spoils with BTTS looks the most likely outcome for me. ___________________________________________________________________________________________ 19:45 Bristol City vs Wolverhampton Wanderers - Prediction - 1.2 - Suggested Bets - BTTS @4/5, Wolves to score 2 or more @5/4 Key Facts * Bristol City have seen BTTS in 9 out of 13 Championship fixtures this season including 5 out of 7 at home * Bristol City have kept only 4 clean sheets in 14 league fixtures and in only 1 of 7 home fixtures in the Championship * Bristol City suffered a 4.1 home spanking by Fulham last weekend * Bristol City sit just above the relegation zone with 11 points from 11 games so far * Bristol City have conceded 2 or more in 5 out of 7 home league fixtures this season and in 9 out of 14 overall * Wolves have seen BTTS in 9 of their last 13 away Championship fixtures * Wolves have scored in 18 of their last 20 away Championship fixtures including 7 goals in their 3 most recent away fixtures * Wolves scored 2 or more in their last 3 away league fixtures at Derby, Fulham and Birmingham * Wolves had lost 3 in a row in the league before bouncing back to win 20 at Birmingham on Saturday * Wolves have scored 2 or more in their last 6 meetings with Bristol City Final Verdict - Wolves good enough to score two or more I like Wolves chances of scoring 2 or more in this fixture with Bristol leaking plenty and the visitors looking good on the road in terms of goals with 7 in their last 3. Wolves to score 2 or more is big @11/8 and surely has a chance considering Fulham got 4 here just 3 days ago. Wolves are an attacking team and they do leave gaps so Bristol can score themselves so I would think BTTS has a decent chance here @5/6 odds but Wolves can win here and they are a big price @15/8 as well. ___________________________________________________________________________________________ Suggested Bets Burnley vs Fulham - BTTS @8/13 Burnley vs Fulham - BTTS and over 2.5 goals @1/1 Sheffield Wednesday vs Brighton - BTTS @10/11 Derby vs Queens Park Rangers - Derby to score 2 or more @4/6 Brentford vs Hull - BTTS @5/6 Bristol City vs Wolves - BTTS @4/5 Bristol City vs Wolves - Wolves to score 2 or more @5/4 Comments are closed.
