It should be a great occasion in Manchester tonight with FC Barcelona travelling to England for the first leg encounter with Man City. City have been nothing short of a mixed bag of delicious yet inconsistant nuts (revels anyone?)in this competition for the past 3 seasons but sealed their place in the knockout competition with a fantastic 2.0 win in Rome in the final game of their group to recover from a pretty poor start to the campaign. Having beaten Bayern 3.2 in the previous game, it was clear perhaps that this side had turned a corner and they went on to record a fine win in Italy to knock out Roma. However their domestic performances has been hit and miss with City rarely finding top gear and the form they are clearly so capable of.
One player though who has been brilliant is our man pictured above, David Silva. I believe the little Spaniard is going to be vital tonight if City are going to get the result they want and will be up vital for Barca that they stop this little genius grabbing hold of the game. As discussed in my previous write up, I fully expect City to push the Catalans all the way in this tie and I am backing them to win tonight on the draw no bet market at 6/4. At the very least I expect them to score so i think this could be either 1.1 or 2.1 for the home side. If you want an anytime goalscorer bet, Silva is as good as anything available at 3/1 odds. With that being said, I will be backing both markets and hoping for a little luck in the final result. 2.1 would be ideal for everyone involved I feel, including Bo. Yaya Toure is suspended for this one but hopefully that will allow the hardworking and under-rated James Milner to start and giving David Silva the freedom to operate as their chief creative spark. There is no doubting the Ivorians ability and he may well be missed but I believe that City can overcome Barca tonight even without Toure and I will be on them at 6/4, draw no bet. In Italy, Juve and Dortmund will be another hugely competitive and closely fought tie despite the varrying degress of fortune for both sides domestically this season. While Juve are strolling to yet another Scudetto, Dortmund have been fighting a relegation battle all season and it is only with 3 wins from their last 3 that they have finally escaped the danger zone into midtable obscurity. BTTS is being tipped up again at 5/6 with the home side at a shade over evens to win. In the Championship, we have a really tough card to choose from although I am looking for goals in the games at Brighton and Blackburn and a possible home win at Wolves. Don't forget the special bet365 in play offer bet which remember, is basically a risk free up to £50 on whatever you fancy in the in play market.
