And here are my previews for the best of the action from the English Championship and with 10 games being played, I am looking at 5 of them to supply our best bets for tonight. Here are the previews, predictions and best bets. Championship
20:45 Ipswich vs Cardiff - Prediction - Best Bet - BTTS @10/11 Ipswich are another side pushing for the play-offs and will be desperate to claim the points tonight as they welcome Cardiff to Portman Road. Cardiff are unbeaten in 7 away matches and have scored at least once in 10 of their last 11 on the road with BTTS in 9 of their last 11 away matches. Ipswich themselves are in good BTTS form with 4 of their last 5 home fixtures resulting in BTTS. 6 of their last 8 at home or away have also followed the pattern and given the away form of Cardiff, I like the 10/11 on offer here. Ipswich should just about win but I prefer the goals market here. 20:45 Middlesbrough vs Wolverhampton Wanderers 1.0 - Prediction - Best Bet - No bet This is a pretty tricky tie to forecast with these sides pretty evenly matched but I do fancy the home side to prevail narrowly. Boro have won their last 5 at home while Wolves have lost of their last 6 on the road so the home side are deservedly favourites at 3/4 odds. Still those odds are a little short for me and while Wolves are good going forward, I cannot fully recommend a BTTS match here. The home side have kept 4 clean sheets in their last 5 (7 from last 11) and have also stopped the likes of Derby, Bournemouth and Norwich from scoring at the Riverside this season so it's clear that Wolves could struggle to score tonight. There have only been 5 BTTS matches in Boro's last 15 home games so I think this is a game I might have to avoid. 20:45 Derby vs Blackpool - Prediction 4.1- Best Bet @ Derby to score 3 or more @5/6. I would like to make sure that Derby's strikers are fit for this one before backing it but I expect some goals for the hosts tonight who absolutely have to win this one if they are to have any hope of sneaking into an automatic promotion place. As it is, Derby need the points in any case to further strengthen their grip on a top 6 place and with Blackpool now officially relegated and leaking goals, a home win looks certain as reflected in the 2/9 odds on a Derby win. Blackpool have conceded 3 or more goals in games at big guns Ipswich, Bournemouth, Brentford, Norwich and Watford since the turn of the year, conceding 22 in the process and have lost 8 of their last 10 away games so I fully expect the pattern to continue tonight at Derby. 20:45 Leeds vs Norwich - Prediction 1.3- Best Bet - Norwich to score 2 or more @8/13, Norwich to win @8/15 Norwich will be looking for 3 points tonight as they visit a demoralised Elland Road to take on a Leeds side that have lost 3 on the bounce. The Canaries have won 6 out of 7 on the road, scoring 2 or more in all 6 of those wins and I can see the pattern continuing tonight with Leeds struggling now following a good start to the new year having lost their last 3 fixtures and 3 of their last 5 home games. With Norwich in such good form away from home and pushing all the way for an automatic promotion place, I can only see one outcome here although the 8/15 on offer for an away win is short. I prefer Norwich to score 2 or more @8/13 odds although I do expect an away win as well. 20:45 Sheffield Wednesday vs Brentford - Prediction 1.2- Best Bet - Brentford to win @21/20, BTTS @ 4/5 Sheffield Wednesday are king of the draws with 11 of their 21 home games finishing all square but I'm not so sure that will be the outcome here tonight. Brentford are a smashing little team and really seem to be confident that they can make into the play-offs as well this season as they look for 3 points tonight. It won't be easy with Wednesday only losing once in 8 home matches (6 draws and 1 win only) but the away side are in good form on the road, winning 2 and drawing 2 of their last 4 and having taken a point at Derby at the weekend in an excellent performance, they will feel they can win this tonight and given their form and need for the points, I believe they might just nick this one. I prefer the BTTS market here though with 11 of Brentford's last 15 away games finishing with BTTS and with Sheffield Wed also involved in 4 successive BTTS matches at home, the odds of 4/5 look good to me. 20:45 Birmingham vs Blackburn - Prediction - Best Bet - No bet Neither side involved in promotion and relegation matters and that makes this one a no bet for me. 20:45 Brighton vs Huddersfield - Prediction 1.1 - Best Bet - No bet See above. 20:45 Millwall vs Wigan - Prediction - 0.1 Best Bet - No bet I quite fancy Gary Caldwell to get his first win as Wigan boss but I'm not gonna bet on this one with both sides looking almost certain to be relegated. No bet. 21:00 Reading vs Bournemouth - Prediction 0.2- Best Bet - Bournemouth to win @1/2, Bournemouth to score 2 or more goals @8/13 Callum Wilson to score anytime@11/10 I'm pretty confident in backing the league leaders tonight as they close in on a stunning promotion to the Premier League with 3 points their expectation from a trip to Reading tonight. Reading have their focus on the FA Cup semi final against Arsenal at Wembley this Saturday, so this game is nothing more than a distraction for the hosts who will surely rest players ahead of the big game. Of course this should play into the visitor's hands and with Reading's home record poor at the best of times, i cannot see anything other than 3 points for the Cherries here. I quite fancy them to do the job in some style but I'm happy to back them for the outright win @ 8/13 odds which are shortening as I write this preview so if you do wanna back the visitors, get on them now as team-news is likely to favour the visitors who could go as short as 4/9 before kick-off. 21:00 Bolton vs Charlton - Prediction 2.0- Best Bet - no bet 2 teams in the middle of the division so it makes sense to ignore this one with neither side having anything to play for. No bet for Bo. Bo's Best Bets for Tuesday Atletico to beat Real @9/5 Atletico draw no bet to beat Real @5/6 Bournemouth to score 2 or more goals @8/13 Norwich to score 2 or more @8/13 Ipswich v Cardiff - BTTS @10/11 Derby to score 3 or more @5/6 Callum Wilson to score anytime @11/10 Shef Wed v Brentford - BTTS @4/5 Brentford to beat Shef Wed @21/20 Comments are closed.
