The Champions League Quarter Final's get under way tonight and the fixture from Spain should be a cracker as we see a repeat of last season's final with Real and Atletico locking horns once again with the first leg coming from Ateltico's Vincente Calderon stadium. Juventus welcome Monaco to Turin in the evening's other quarter final tie and we have 10 games from the Championship in England as well on what is a pretty busy evening of football. I'm not going to look at all the Championship fixture as I want to focus my attention on fewer games so I will preview only the games I intend to bet on. Bet365 have their special in play offer for tonight's big European game with a risk free 25 euros (50 in the uk) bet available on the in play markets for Atletico v Real. All you have to do is place a pre-match bet, up to £50 on any pre match market and then they will give you a free bet to the same value to bet with during the match. My favourite approach here is to put your first 50 on over 0.5 goals in the game, at 1/14 odds, returning £54 and thus generating your free 50. You can cover the under 0.5 goal market by putting £5.50 on a 0.0 draw to cover, which guarantees you only lose a fiver at the most but you have generated a free £50 bet to use in-play. Simply put, the most you can lose is a fiver and for that fiver you are getting yourself a free £50 bet! It's a great offer and too good to miss out on. Feel free to tweet me if you have any queries or better yet, check the bet365 website! It should be a cracker and I fancy the hosts BIG time for this one. Here are my previews for the Champions League ties with a seperate preview to come for the English league action. UEFA Champions League 20.45 - Atletico v Real Madrid - Prediction 3.1- Best Bet - Atletico to win @15/8, In a repeat of last year's final, Real and Atletico go head to head once more in Europes premier competition in what will be their 7th meeting in less than 18 months. Since that final in May of last year, Atletico and Real have met each other 6 times in various competitions with Atletico unbeaten during that period, winning 4 (once after extra time) and drawing twice with all 3 of their last meetings at the Vincente Calderon ending with victory for the hosts and 3 clean sheets to boot. Their most recent meeting, just 2 months ago in the League finished with a huge 4.0 win for Atletico and I really fancy them to win tonight at huge odds of 15/8. When you consider the history, recent and current form, and Real's most recent European performance, a 4.3 home defeat to Schalke, it is clear that this will be a hugely difficult test for the reigning champions against a side with a magnificent record in front of their own support. They have 4 wins and 4 clean sheets in this years event as well as 13 wins from 16 league games with just 1 defeat and when you consider their run of form against Real, it's impossible for me to ignore Atletico here. The bookies never seem to take into account just how good this Atletico team are. Sure, they don't have the names that Real do but I fully expect them to show again tonight that they are the daddy's of Madrid. Let us not forget they are League champions and came within 60 seconds of adding the Champions League title last year as well before that dramatic leveler by Sergio Ramos. Simeone's men will be hugely fired up for this one and they just seem to have a better shape, better organisation and a bigger heart and I'm confident in backing them for the outright win. As for my free 25? (stupid Spain) I'm undecided but the 22/1 on offer for 3.1 Atletico is really rather tempting. The bookies expect a low scoring, close encounter but I have a feeling that something else is in store for us tonight and I might just go for it with my free bet rather than trying something safer. We shall see. 20.45 - Juventus v Monaco - Prediction 1.0- Best Bet - no bet Juventus are currently 8/15 to see off Monaco tonight and for me those are way too short in what should be a low scoring encounter. We all know about Monaco's defensive record this season and having eliminated Arsenal in the previous round, they will not be overly intimidated by a trip to Turin and you would expect them to be solid again at the back tonight. Juventus are strong at home though and tend to win with a cleansheet and that is the only bet that tempts me here with Juve 4/5 to win to nil. I'm expecting a narrow home win but with the price too short, I think I will leave this one alone tonight as I don't expect too many goals and I'm not much of a fan of betting on teams not to score. No bet here. Championship preview to follow... Comments are closed.
