It truly is a Super Sunday with 2 huge matches to look forward to amongst a host of matches from across Europe. Kicking us off at 1430 CET we have a critical clash in the race for a top 4 spot in the Premier League as Man Utd travel to on form Liverpool while the action concludes at 2100 with El Clasico from Barcelona as Real Madrid visit the Nou Camp. Here are my previews and best bets for all this afternoon's games. Premier League
14:30 Liverpool vs Manchester United - Prediction 2.2 Best Bet - BTTS @8/11 I'm hoping for and expecting a bit of a cracker here and BTTS @8/11 is my bet for this one. Liverpool are favourites and come into this clash in fine form but United were impressive last week in crushing Spurs at Old Trafford and I am not confident in picking an outright winner here. Historically, BTTS has been frequent with 4 of the last 5 encounters at Anfield following this pattern and I think it has a good chance again today. Liverpool have won their last 5 and deserve to be favourites but I feel that United will be strong today and BTTS looks a more reliable bet for me here. 1700 - QPR V Everton - Prediction 2.1 - Best Bet - BTTS @4/6, QPR to win @ 5/2, draw no bet @11/8 Everton come into this one having been smashed 5.2 in Kiev on Thursday night and defeat here could drag them back into the relegation scrap. Both sides are in poor form with QPR losing their last 4 at home but those matches were against 4 teams from the top 6 and they were a little unfortunate in their 2.1 defeats to Spurs and Arsenal. Evertons morale will have been hit hard on Thursday, as well as their energy levels and given that they have lost 8 of their last 9 on the road in the league, I like the 5/2 on offer for the home side to pick up the points and the 11/8 draw no bet option. Despite Everton's woeful form on the road, they should be able to score 1 today, given the leaky defense of QPR who have kept only 2 clean sheets in their last 10 at home, but I feel the home side will claim the points and force Everton back into the mix for the drop. 17:00 Hull vs Chelsea - Prediction 0.2- Best Bet - no bet I'm not too keen on backing Chelsea at 1/2 and I'm going to avoid this one in my best bets. The league seems to be wrapped up for Chelsea but they have dropped points recently and are certainly not playing with the same fluidity as earlier in the season so in this instance, I'm going to give them a miss. Bundesliga 15:30 Mainz 05 vs Wolfsburg - Prediction -1.2 Best Bet - BTTS @ 4/7 Both teams have scored in 9 of Wolfsburgs 12 away matches this season and with Mainz also involved in 7 from 12 at home, including 4 of their last 6 and 7 of their last 9. Wolfsburg were in Europa League action on Thursday and might start this one slowly, and find themselves fighting for the 3 points against a side that have only lost 3 at home all season. I would still expect the visitors to win but I'm going with BTTS @ 4/7 17:30 Bayern Munich vs Borussia M.Gladbach - Prediction 3.1- Best Bet - BTTS @1/1 While Bayern don't usually concede at home, I am going with BTTS here given the fact that the visits have scored in their last 4 visits to Munich and come into this match while currently enjoying their best season in many years. It's a sad state of affairs when the 4th placed team in a league are as big as 12/1 to win against the team in 1st position, but that is what we have today with Bayern as short as 1/5 to get the win. BTTS is not a banker here but given the history and the visitors form, I feel they are capable of scoring at odds against. Eredivisie 14:30 Feyenoord vs PSV Eindhoven - Prediction 2.2- Best Bet - BTTS @4/7, Over 2.5 goals @ 7/10, Feyenoord to score 2 or more @10/11 Big game in Holland for us to look at and the obvious potential for goals as league leaders PSV face a tough test away to Feyenoord. Some very interesting stats lead me to the conclusion that goals are almost inevitable here. Here are 7 nuggets of information that are hard to ignore when forming my best bets for this one. PSV Eindhoven have won 13 of their last 14 matches in Eredivisie. Feyenoord have scored at least 2 goals in their last 10 home matches in Eredivisie. Feyenoord have won 9 of their last 10 home matches in Eredivisie. There have been over 2.5 goals scored in Feyenoord's last 6 home games in Eredivisie. There have been over 2.5 goals scored in PSV Eindhoven's last 6 games in Eredivisie. Feyenoord have won their last 4 home matches against PSV Eindhoven in all competitions. Feyenoord have scored at least 2 in their last 4 home mathes against PSV. Conclusions? 2 strong teams and the goals bet is backed by history and current form, over 2.5 @7/10 and BTTS @4/7 14:30 Groningen vs Twente - Prediction 2.2- Best Bet - BTTS @8/13 74% of Twente's games have produced BTTS which is one of the highest rations in the top leagues in Europe, if not the highest. Groningen have scored at least one goal in every home game this season while Twente have scored in all but 2 of their away games this season so BTTS looks straighforward right? In their last 6 games, both teams have been involved in BTTS in 5 out of 6 and so all signs are pointing to yes for this mid-table clash. 16:45 Ajax vs ADO Den Haag - Prediction 2.0- Best Bet - No bet I'm not keen on this home banker here with my attention for Holland on the previous 2 fixtures. No bet for Bo. Serie A 15:00 Juventus vs Genoa - Prediction 2.0 - Best Bet - No bet Similar to the Ajax game, i prefer to avoid these kind of fixtures with little value on offer. Suggested bets in order of confidence. Feyenoord v PSV - BTTS @4/7 Groningen v Twente - BTTS @ 8/13 Liverpool v Man Utd - BTTS @ 8/11 Mainz v Wolfsburg - BTTS Feyenoord v PSV - Over 2.5 goals @7/10 QPR V Everton - BTTS @4/6 QPR V Everton - QPR to win, draw no bet @11/8 Bayern v Moenchengladbach - BTTS @1/1 Feyenoord to score 2 or more goals @10/11 Comments are closed.
