6 games covered today with plenty of action from across Europe to enjoy and I'm kicking things off early with a selection from Spain as Sevilla welcome Villarreal at the rather ungodly hour of 12pm on a Sunday (local time). in a game where I expect the hosts to bounce back from their recent loss at Espanyol. Then to Manchester as Pep Guardiola's side take on a recently revived Swansea in a fixture that usually delivers goals. Following on from that, we have 4 more games covered from Germany, Spain and Italy in this bumper preview! You lucky buggers.. Here are Sunday's Best Bets and Key Facts to support them. #BOlieve Sevilla vs Villarreal
Prediction – 3.1 Best Bets – Sevilla to score 2 or more @4/6, Over 2.5 goals @4/5, BTTS and over 2.5 goals @6/5 Key Facts
Sevilla’s fine run of form was broken by Espanyol last weekend and I expect them to return to winning ways here as they welcome the often unpredictable Villarreal to the south of Spain. Historically, this is a fixture that usually produces goals although the BTTS patterns of Villarreal are not especially encouraging in recent weeks so my best bet here is Sevilla to score 2 or more @4/6 while I will try the BTTS and over 2.5 goals combo @6/5, mainly because of Sevilla’s remarkable record in both markets lately while the 4/5 on over 2.5 goals on it’s own also has to have a good chance with Sevilla seeing that outcome in 9 of their last 10 at home. Man City vs Swansea Prediction – 3.1 Best Bets – BTTS @10/11, BTTS and over 2.5 goals @11/10 Key Facts
Recent form and history suggests BTTS has a good chance here at a tasty price of 10/11 and I’m taking it with over 2.5 goals scored @11/10. City are still an inconsistent bunch but they mauled West Ham last weekend and I expect them to continue their form with new signing Jesus looking to conjure up some title miracles for his new boss Guardiola. Swansea though have improved under Paul Clement, at least in the short-term with 3 huge wins in their last 4 games to give themselves a genuine chance of survival. Their recent win at Liverpool will have given them the confidence to believe they can get a result at another of the leagues big sides here and while I don’t expect them to take anything, I do fancy they can score, as they have done in each of their last 7 meetings with City. BTTS @10/11 is generous enough but if, like me, you expect the home win, try the double with BTTS and over 2.5 goals @11/10. 14:00 Genoa vs Sassuollo Prediction – 2.2 Best Bets – BTTS @4/6, BTTS and over 2.5 goals @21/20 Key Facts
Goals are the easy call here with away day goal-scoring specialists travelling to a Genoa side that have been involved in plenty of high-scoring fixtures of late. Each of Genoa’s last 4 games have seen BTTS and over 3.5 goals with a whopping 21 goals scored in those fixtures and something similar should be in store here with Sassuolo picking up their own form lately and the result should be BTTS and over 2.5 goals @11/10. BTTS on it’s own is certainly worth backing @4/6 and I’m on both picks here. Celta Vigo vs Real Madrid Prediciton 1.2 Best Bets – BTTS and over 2.5 goals @5/6 - NAP Key Facts
Final Verdict My Sunday NAP follows my Sunday afternoon nap (or siesta) with Real travelling to Vigo for the last fixture of our weekend and I am banking on goals with all recent form, stats and historical meetings suggesting this one is bound to go over 2.5 goals with BTTS. The bookies agree but 5/6 is still a decent price on an outcome that seems pretty logical and likely considering current form for both sides. Real will want revenge for their cup exit last week and with the title seemingly in their sites, you would expect an away victory but still, Celta are in good form and they should push the visitors hard here. With an average of 4.66 goals scored in their last 6 meetings, and all 6 producing BTTS and over 2.5 goals, as well as the current form of both sides (Celta strong at home, Real liable to concede), all signs are pointing to yes and that’s why I’m making this my NAP. 17:00 Palermo vs Crotone Prediction 1.2 Best Bets - BTTS @1/1 Key Facts * Crotone have scored 6 goals in their last 2 league fixtures. They had scored 6 goals only in their previous 9 in the league * Crotone have seen BTTS in 5 of their last 8 away league fixtures * Palermo have kept just 2 clean-sheets in their last 22 home league games and none in their last 11 * Palermo have lost 9 of their last 10 home league fixtures while they have won just 1 of their last 16 league fixtures * Palermo have seen BTTS in 12 of their last 16 league fixtures and in 4 of their last 7 at home * Crotone have never kept an away-clean sheet in Serie A. After 11 games, they have conceded 22 and picked up just 2 points * Both sides are in deep relegation trouble with Palermo 2nd from bottom with just 11 points and Crotone one position and 2 points better off. * The reverse fixture earlier this season, the first ever meeting between these two sides, finished in a 1.1 draw. Final Verdict Not my most confident selection of the day but I like the chances at a good price of BTTS here with both sides desperate for a win and both unable to keep clean-sheets in the league this season. Palermo are on their 6000th manager of the season (or so it feels) while new-boys Crotone have raised their game in recent weeks and I fancy that this one has a good chance to see goals at tasty 1/1 odds. It’s not gonna make it as a NAP or NB but this selection is worth a punt on a small stakes acca. Augsburg v Werder Bremen Prediction - 1.2 Best Bets – BTTS @3/4 Key Facts * Werder have seen BTTS in 6 of their last 7 away league fixtures. 5 of those also went over 2.5 goals * Werder have kept only 3 clean-sheets in their last 47 away league fixtures! * Werder have scored in 29 of their last 35 away league fixtures in the past 2 years. More recently, they have scored in each of their last 7 on the road. * Werder have seen BTTS in 16 of their last 17 league games (home and away) * 14 of those 16 games also saw over 2.5 goals scored * Each of the last 6 meetings between these two sides have seen BTTS and over 2.5 goals * 24 goals were scored in those 6 matches with 4 wins for Augsburg and 2 for Werder * In fact, 9 of the last 11 meetings have seen BTTS * None of their last 9 meetings have finished in draws while each of the last 3 meetings has been won by the away side. Final Verdict I just can’t ignore my old favourites Werder, even if they are up against a side that have only a 50% success ratio in the BTTS market at home this season. We all know the numbers set by Bremen in the BTTS market in the last weeks and months and while they can’t bring home the bacon every weekend, I am loathe to ignore them when they have done so well for me in my recent tips and previews. Historically, this fixture always seems to bring up the BTTS and over 2.5 goals pick and that is priced at a heffy 11/8 which seems too much for a team like Werder, but I will pay it safe and take BTTS at a generous price of 4/5 Sunday Best Bets Celta v Real – BTTS and over 2.5 goals @5/6 – NAP Genoa v Sassuollo – BTTS @4/6 –NB Best of the rest Man City vs Swansea - BTTS @10/11 Man City vs Swansea - BTTS and over 2.5 goals @11/10 Sevilla to score 2 or more @4/6 Augsburg v Werder – BTTS @4/5 Genoa v Sassuollo – BTTS and over 2.5 goals @11/8 Palermo v Crotone – BTTS @1/1 Sevilla v Villareal – Over 2.5 goals @4/5 Sevilla v Villarreal – BTTS and over 2.5 goals @6/5 Comments are closed.
