The less said about Saturday the better, but these things happen sometimes and while It's not the most exciting of Sunday fixture lists I have got 4 games covered from Italy, Germany and Spain with Hoffenheims trip to Wolfsburg potentially the highlight. Here's what I've got for your Sunday as we look to bounce back from a shitty Saturday. #BOlieve 14:00 Torino vs Pescara Prediction – 3.1 Best Bets – BTTS @5/6, BTTS and over 2.5 goals @13/10 Key Facts * Torino have seen BTTS in 14 of their last 16 home Serie A fixtures, including 8 of the last 9 – that’s 88% of all home games in the last 11 months *12 of those 14 BTTS games also went over 2.5 goals * Torino have won only 1 of their last 9 league fixtures, conceding 16 goals in the process * However Torino have only lost 1 of their last 12 at home * Torino have only failed to score once in their last 16 at home * Pescara have seen BTTS in 4 of their last 5 away league * Pescara have seen BTTS in 8 of their last 10 league fixtures (home and away), including 5 of the last 6. 6 of those 8 games also went over 2.5 goals * Pescara have conceded 3 goals or more in 5 of their last 7 league matches. * 4 of the last 5 meetings between these two sides in Turin saw BTTS and over 2.5 goals (since 2011) Final Verdict – Goals and a home win on the cards Goals are often on the cards when Torino play at home and I’m taking BTTS here @5/6 with both sides more than capable of scoring, as borne out by my key facts. Pescara are leaking goals left, right and centre (17 in their last 5) but they have been able to score in 4 of their last 5 away defeats as well as scoring twice at home to Lazio last weekend and given Torino’s habit of conceding at home (just 2 clean-sheets in 16), and their own defensive frailties of late, BTTS and over 2.5 goals looks the right call here with Torino’s quality likely to take them to the 3 points against a side that have amassed only 9 points so far this season. 14:30 Wolfsburg vs Hoffenheim Prediction – 2.2 Best Bets – BTTS @4/6, Hoffenheim not to lose @8/15 Key Facts * Hoffenheim have scored in 14 of their last 16 away league fixtures * Hoffenheim have lost only 1 of their last 9 away league fixtures * Hoffenheim have seen BTTS in 11 of their last 16 away league fixtures including 6 of the last 9 * Hoffenheim have drawn 6 of their last 10 league fixtures * Wolfsburg have seen BTTS and over 2.5 goals in 3 of their last 6 home league fixtures * Historically, this fixture has been a tremendous fixture for goals with 15 of their 18 meetings since 2008 going over 2.5 goals. The only caveat to that is that the last two meetings between these sides finished 1.0 and 0.0. Both of those matches came at Hoffenheim though. * All 8 meetings between these two sides @Wolfsburg has seen over 2.5 goals scored. 7 of those matches also saw BTTS. 31 goals were scored in those 8 matches * 12 of the 18 meetings between these two sides saw BTTS and over 2.5 goals scored Final Verdict I fancy the visitors to get at least a point in a fixture that historically almost always delivers goals. Recent form doesn't make it a nailed on pick, but for me, with their history and the visitors form, I fancy a share of the spoils with goals pretty likely. 17:30 Las Palmas vs Sevilla Prediction – 2.2 Best Bets – Las Palmas not to lose @7/10, BTTS @8/13, BTTS and over 2.5 goals @1/1 Key Facts * Las Palmas have seen BTTS in 5 of their last 7 home La Liga fixtures. 3 of those 5 games also went over 2.5 goals * Las Palmas are unbeaten in their last 15 home La Liga matches with only 3 defeats in their last 23. * Las Palmas have drawn 7 of their last 15 home league fixtures * Las Palmas have scored in 10 of their last 11 home league fixtures. * In the last 12 months, Las Palmas have scored in 17 of their 19 home league fixtures *In the last 15 months and 23 matches, only 3 teams have beaten Las Palmas in the Canary Islands. Barcelona, Real and Atletico Madrid. * Sevilla have seen BTTS in 9 of their last 12 La Liga fixtures. 8 of those 9 BTTS matches also went over 2.5 goals * Sevilla have seen BTTS in 8 of their last 10 away league fixtures. 6 of those BTTS matches also went Over 2.5 goals * Sevilla have won 5 of their last 8 away league fixtures having failed to win any of the previous 22. * Sevilla have scored 20 goals in their last 8 away league fixtures * However, they have conceded 16 goals in their last 9 away league fixtures * Sevilla have dropped 5 points in their last 2 games following a 3.1 loss at Espanyol with a 0.0 draw at home to Villarreal. * Past meetings are limited but Sevilla have lost on their last 2 visits to the Canaries, including a 2.0 loss in last season’s corresponding fixture POINTLESS FACTS OF THE DAY!
Sevilla travel to the Canary Islands as they bid to stay in the title race to take on a strong home side in Las Palmas who remain unbeaten on their own patch this season. BTTS is quite short @8/13 but I fancy the hosts to score and make life difficult for their more Illustrious opponents who have had a distinctly poor away record up until very recently and while Sevilla seemed to have erased those away day blues with 5 wins coming in their previous 7 on the road, a 3.1 defeat at Espanyol in their last away outing provided a timely reminder that this is a side who often struggle away from Andalucía and Las Palmas is certainly not the easiest place to go with only the biggest and best teams winning there in the last 15 months. All things considered, and the hosts must have every chance of claiming at least a point here and I am backing them to maintain their unbeaten record and claim at least a draw @3/4 odds. I fancy goals and so a 2.2 draw doesn’t seem out of the question, especially given the visitors recent history on the road but my favourite selection here is the hosts not to lose @3/4. 19:45 Cagliari vs Juventus Prediction – 1.3 Best Bets - Juventus to win and over 2.5 goals @1/1, BTTS @19/20, BTTS and over 2.5 goals @11/8, Juventus to win and BTTS @2/1 Key Facts * Cagliari have seen over 2.5 goals scored in 20 of their last 23 home games including 11 of the last 12 * 18 of those matches also saw BTTS * 33 goals have been scored in Cagliari's last 6 home league fixtures * Cagliari have won 7 of their last 10 home league fixtures, losing just twice (0.5 to Napoli and 3.5 to Fiorentina) * Cagliari have scored 29 goals in their last 12 home league fixtures * Cagliari have scored in 20 of their last 23 home league fixtures * Cagliari have kept just 2 clean-sheets in their last 31 (THIRTY ONE) home league fixtures * Juventus have seen BTTS and over 2.5 goals scored in 4 of their last 5 away league fixtures * Going back further, 9 of Juventus last 14 away have seen BTTS and over 2.5 goals – that’s a 64% success rate – BTTS and over 2.5 goals odds @ * Juve have only kept 4 clean-sheets in their last 14 away league fixtures * Juve’s clean sheet as Sassuolo was their first away clean-sheet in their last 7 away fixtures (in all comps) * 4 of the last 5 meetings between these two sides @Cagliari have seen BTTS and over 2.5 goals with Juventus victories (1.3, 1.3, 1.4, 1.3). Juve also won the other match, 2.0 * Juventus have actually won 7 of their last 8 meetings @Cagliari Final Verdict – Goals An away day victory with goals seems the likeliest outcome in the late kick-off from Sardinia as Juventus take on a decent Cagliari side that usually find a way to score at home. Recent form and history suggests an away win with over 2.5 goals scored is the most likely outcome and I’m taking 4 selections from this, the final game of our weekend. Almost 90% of Cagliari home games over the last year have gone over 2.5 goals while Juventus have managed to win 75% of all their away games during the same period. When you add in the possibility of a home goal (Cagliari have scored in 20 of their last 23 at home) and add in the recent meetings between these two sides here, all signs are pointing to an away win with BTTS. Sunday Best Bets final selections to follow... Comments are closed.
