I was kicking myself when Dortmund conceded a late goal to Hertha having failed to cover them when they lead 2.0 but a 93rd minute goal saved my bacon and brought up the first leg of my Deadly Double which has now been confirmed a winner with BTTS happening in the first half of the PSV fixture with Feyenoord. Rangers won convincingly again with a 5.1 success at Q.O.S and we are now waiting on Swansea to avoid defeat at home to Man Utd to bring up my 2nd double of the day. My only loser so far today was Norwich who were reduced to 10 men in the first half of their 3.0 defeat at Southampton but it could have been a lot different without that game changing decision but none the less it is another day of profit for Bobookies. Here are my previews for best of tonight's action in Spain and Italy with some further bets to come. La Liga
20:30 Sevilla vs Atletico Madrid - Prediction 0.0- Suggested Bets - Draw @5/2 Former league champions Atletico face a tough test in Seville tonight and we could see a share of the spoils with Atletico drawing 5 of their last 8 away league fixtures, including a 0.0 draw at Sevilla towards the end of last season and a repeat here wouldn't surprise me with the hosts extremely strong on their own patch. Last season's Europa League winners Sevilla will enter the Champions League this season, giving Spain 5 representatives at Europe's top table and given their fabulous Europa League record, winning 4 trophies in 9 years, they should be a dangerous opponent for most teams, including tonight's opponents. Both sides have big again this season and I expect a closely fought, low scoring encounter with Ateltico notoriously tough to beat, losing just 1 of their last 15 league games. Sevilla have lost just once in 27 home league games and that only a 3.2 loss to Real Madrid but they are now missing their main man Carlos Bacca who has joined AC Milan over the summer. Whether they carry the same goal threat has yet to be established with no real replacement signed. Frenchman Kevin Gameiro will lead the line but he is not nearly as prolific as the Colombian Bacca. This should be tight, and a draw is my favoured outcome for this one with another 0.0 not out of the question. 20:30 Valencia vs Deportivo La Coruna - Prediction 2.0- Suggested Bets - Valencia to score 2 or more @8/13 Valencia should be too strong for Deportivo here in their opening home fixture of the campaign and I fancy them to score at least 2 goals considering their fine form at the Mestalla last season. The hosts scored 2 or more in 9 of their last 12 home fixtures, winning 10 of those games and they should get another win here but the odds of 4/9 are a little short for me. Instead I'll try 2 goals or more for the hosts @8/13 with Depor's away record pretty poor. The visitors have conceded 2 or more in 6 of their last 9 away games, with only 1 win in 17 away games and with Valencia scoring 2 or more in 5 of their last 6 meetings with Depor, I fancy a repeat today at the more attractive price of 8/13. Serie A 18:00 Roma vs Juventus - Prediction 1.1- Suggested Bets - Draw @12/5, Under 2.5 goals @3/5 Juventus travel to Rome for a clash between last season's top two sides and while it's still early in the season, this fixture takes on an even greater importance for Juve who slumped to a shock 1.0 home defeat to Udinese in last weekend's opening fixtures of the season. Last season's meeting in Rome finished 1.1 and I remember it fondly having backed Roma not to lose or BTTS (not sure exactly which) but they were down to 10 men and looked dead and buried before a late equaliser saved my bacon and rescued a point. Juventus were much the better team in that game but historically this is always a tight, low scoring affair when the men from Turin travel south to Rome with all 6 of their most recent meetings going under 2.5 goals and that could be the best bet here @3/5 although I am not a big fan of betting against goals. It just feels wrong. Roma will be desperate to get something from the game and I think they might just manage that again in a low scoring, tight contest once more but I will probably try the draw with the unders goal market not my favourite. 20:45 Torino vs Fiorentina - Prediction 1.1- Suggested Bets - BTTS @5/6, Draw @9/4 5 of the last 6 meetings between these 2 teams have seen BTTS and I like the possibility of a repeat here @5/6 odds with Fiorentina have won their last 6 in Serie A, 5 of those at the tail end of last season while Torino have won 3 of their last 4 at home while the likes of Roma, Juventus and Napoli all failed to win here last season. The 5/6 price reflects the stats with BTTS by no means a banker here but Torino have scored in 10 of their last 12 at home while Fiorentina have scored in 8 of their last 10 away, scoring 17 in the process and I fancy the possibility of a score draw here so that's what i'll be on. 20:45 Napoli vs Sampdoria - Prediction 2.1- Suggested Bets - BTTS @ 8/11, BTTS and over 2.5 goals @21/20 Home favourites Napoli should win here but I prefer the possibility of goals with Sampdoria holding a decent away record in the goal markets. 7 of Samp's last 9 away league games have seen BTTS with Napoli also seeing that outcome in 5 of their last 7 at home including a 4.2 win over Samp as recently as April and we could get a repeat here in terms of BTTS. Samp have a really good record on the road in terms of goals, having scored in 16 of their last 20 away league games including 12 goals in their last 7 and with Napoli scoring in their last 18 home games, I expect that both can score here @4/5 odds while the BTTS and over 2.5 is also possible with 7 of Napoli's last 11 at home seeing that outcome in fixtures with the likes of Lazio, Inter and today's visitors Sampdoria. The home win is too short at just 4/9 odds on although you would expect Napoli to win but goals look likely so that's my call here. 20:45 Chievo vs Lazio - Prediction - 0.0 - Suggested Bets - Draw @13/5 Lazio were bundled out of the Champions League on Wednesday and I fancy they could come unstuck here against a Chievo side unbeaten in their last 8 at home in the league. I won't be taking any goal bets here but I will probably try the draw considering that Chievo have drawn 8 out of their last 16 home fixtures and Lazio will be somewhat fatigued, both mentally and physically following that harsh 3.0 reverse in Leverkusen. Chievo got off to a great start last week, winning 3.1 at Empoli and while Lazio are much tougher opponents, they should be confident of getting a point although the visitors do have a good record on the road, winning 6 of their last 8 league games but I just feel that Champions League defeat will have hurt them and the hosts can hold out for another draw. Last season's fixture saw a 0.0 draw and I hope for a repeat here. 20:45 Genoa vs Verona - Prediction - 2.2 - Suggested Bets - BTTS @4/6 I like the chances of goals here with home favourites Genoa welcoming a Verona side that are usually involved in high scoring games when they travel. BTTS came up in 7 of Verona's last 9 away league fixtures and they actually managed to score 2 or more in 5 of those games so this is a team well capable of scoring on the road but of course they don't really do clean sheets with only 2 in 17 away fixtures. Genoa finished the season strongly on their own patch, winning their last 5 but they are capable of conceding with 8 of their last 11 home games seeing BTTS including their 3 most recent fixtures. I'm going for goals in what should be a good contest that could finish level. Suggested Bets Valencia to score 2 or more @8/13 Torino v Fiorentina - BTTS @5/6 Napoli v Sampdoria - BTTS @8/11 Napoli v Sampdoria - BTTS and over 2.5 goals @21/20 Genoa v Verona - BTTS @4/6 Roma v Juventus - Under 2.5 goals @3/5 Dour Draws Torino v Fiorentina Sevilla v Atletico Chievo v Lazio Roma v Juventus *game already kicked 0ff Comments are closed.
