It's the biggest match in world football tonight as El Clasico returns for another installment and that usually means 1 thing... GOALS! BTTS is usually an absolute lock in this fixture but I'm putting my faith in a home win with the majestic Lionel Messi at the heart of it. I like the look of goals as Villareal and Sevilla meet for the 3rd time in 10 days. There are 6 fixtures from Italy kicking off in the evening to allow the sides who were competing in Europe this past week a little extra recovery time. Here are my previews for La Liga and Best Bets. La Liga
17:00 Villarreal vs Sevilla - Prediction - 1.2 Best Bet - BTTS @4/7 , Over 2.5 goals @ 7/10, Sevilla to win @5/2 BTTS and overs looks solid here as these 2 come face to face again with the Yellow submarine no doubt sick of the sight of their Andalucian visitors. Here are the key stats that lead me to my conclusions for this one. Villarreal have seen over 2.5 goals in 9 of their last 10 matches against Sevilla in all competitions. There have been over 2.5 goals scored in 8 of Sevilla's last 9 games in La Liga. Sevilla have scored at least 2 goals in 8 of their last 10 matches against Villarreal in all competitions. Sevilla have conceded at least 2 goals in their last 5 away matches in La Liga. Goals look to be assured and I fancy Sevilla to pore further misery on their opponents having rested some key players in the midweek win and while they will be eager for revenge, I feel the energy and confidence rests with the visitors and while i do prefer the 2 goals bets mentioned, Sevilla are good value at 5/2 to claim the win. 19:00 Real Sociedad vs Cordoba - Prediction 2.0 - Best Bet - Sociedad to win @4/7 Very solid at home, David Moyes is enjoying life in San Sebastian and to be fair, who wouldn't ? A beautiful beach city in the Basque area that Chris Coleman famously enjoyed to excess in his stint as boss in the north of Spain. Coleman had arrived 2 hours late for a press conference only to deny accusations that the reason for his tardiness was a night on the town the previous evening. Coleman denied it until reporters pulled out photos of him stumbling out of a bar in the small hours leaving him decidedly red faced and forced to eat a slice of humble pie. Still, Cordoba should enjoy their time a little less in the North of Spain tonight and Moyes team should win easily enough but this won't make it on to any of my best bets today. 21:00 Barcelona vs Real Madrid - Prediction 3.1- Best Bet - Barcelona to win @4/6, Messi t o score anytime @4/6, Barcelona -1 at 11/8. I'm convinced Barca are going to win this tonight and fancy them to do so in style with their captain at the heart of everything they do well at the moment. Messi is back to his sparkling best with 20 goals since January and his performance against Man City in midweek was sensational and much like watching a very skilled Playstation character. A cheat player if you will. While form can go out of the window in these games, I feel Real are too out of sorts to stop the Messi train tonight and will be backing the little man to score @4/6. Historically this one almost always sees BTTS and over 2.5 goals and while I do fancy that again tonight, it would not surprise me if Barca dished out a little bit of a spanking tonight. BTTS and over 2.5 goals is only 8/13 and that is pretty short and I'm not convinced Real will score tonight. Real are in pretty poor shape and while Ronaldo usually managers to score against Barca, I think tonight will be all about the king as Messi leads his side to what could be a comfortable victory. I'm tempted by Barca -1 @ 11/8 and Messi to score 2 or more @11/4 but feel the 4/6 on Messi to score is an absolute banker. It's a Bo lock, Barca to win and Messi to score. Best Bets in order of confidence Barcelona to beat Real @ 4/6 Lionel Messi to score anytime @4/6 Villareal v Sevilla - BTTS @ 4/7 Barcelona -1 to beat Real @11/8 Sevilla to beat Villareal @5/2 Comments are closed.
