Here are my 5 picks from the Championship this afternoon with some good looking contests that should with a little luck, deliver some goals. Championship
12:30 Birmingham vs Wolverhampton Wanderers - Prediction -2.1 - Suggested Bets - BTTS @8/11 Key Facts * Birmingham have seen BTTS in 8 of their last 11 home Championship fixtures * Birmingham have kept only 1 clean sheet in those 11 fixtures * Birmingham have won 4 of their last 5 Championship fixtures * Birmingham have lost 2 of their last 3 home Championship fixtures. They had only lost 2 of the previous 19 at St Andrews * Birmingham beat Wolves 2.1 in last season's corresponding fixture in April of this year * Birmingham sit 6th in the table, only 1 point behind 2nd placed Hull * Wolves have seen BTTS in 9 of their last 12 away Championship fixtures * Wolves have scored in 17 of their last 19 away Championship fixtures including 5 goals in their 2 most recent away fixtures * Wolves have lost 3 successive league fixtures, conceding 9 goals in the process and 3 of their last 5 on the road * Wolves are down in 15th place in the division, already trailing today's opponents by 9 points * Each of the last 4 meetings between these two sides at St Andrews has seen BTTS * The last 9 meetings between these two sides have seen 3 wins for both sides as well as 3 draws. Final Verdict - Tough to call but BTTS looks good Birmingham are in the better form and you would fancy them to get the points here but Wolves usually score on their travels and I expect this one to be a close contest with BTTS pretty likely for me @8/11 odds and if you want to pick a winner, the hosts look more likely @13/8 odds against. ___________________________________________________________________________________________ 15:00 Bristol City vs Fulham - Prediction -1.1 - Suggested Bets - BTTS @ 4/6 Key Facts * Bristol City have seen BTTS in 8 out of 12 Championship fixtures this season including 4 out of 6 at home * Bristol City have kept only 4 clean sheets in 13 league fixtures and in only 1 of 6 home fixtures in the Championship * Bristol City got their first win at home in 5 attempts this season by beating Forest 2.0 * Bristol City sit just above the relegation zone with 11 points from 10 games so far * Fulham are unbeaten in 4 league fixtures and sit 12th with 17 points achieved this season * Fulham have scored in 11 of their last 12 away fixtures * Fulham have seen BTTS in 6 of their last 7 away Championship fixtures. 5 of those 7 also went over 2.5 goals * 9 of Fulham's 13 fixtures this season have seen BTTS * Fulham have seen BTTS in 16 of their last 20 Championship fixtures * Fulham have scored 7 goals in their last 4 away league fixtures * Fulham have scored 18 goals in their last 9 league games * Fulham have conceded 2 or more in 4 of their last 7 away league fixtures with 13 conceded in those 7 fixtures Final Verdict - Goals are usually involved with Fulham BTTS has a good chance here with Fulham reliable for a goal on the road if not the win with only 3 of those in their last 18 away league fixtures. Bristol got a fine win in their last home fixture but Fulham are probably a stiffer challenge than Forest and I fancy this one could end up as a score draw so I'll take BTTS @4/6/ ___________________________________________________________________________________________ 15:00 Ipswich vs Cardiff - Prediction -1.1 - Suggested Bets - BTTS @5/6 Key Facts * Ipswich have seen BTTS in 9 of their last 11 home league fixtures including 4 out of 6 in this campaign * Ipswich have only lost 1 of their last 14 home league fixtures * The hosts sit 13th in the table but are in a poor run of from with only 1 win in their last 9 league fixtures * Cardiff have seen BTTS in 16 of their last 19 away league fixtures including 5 out of 6 so far this season * Cardiff have scored in 18 of their last 20 away league fixtures * Cardiff have only lost 2 of their last 15 away league fixtures * Cardiff have seen only 1 goal scored in their 3 most recent Championship fixtures * Cardiff are unbeaten in their last 5 league fixtures * Both of last season's meetings between these two sides saw the home team winning 3.1 on both occasions * 3 of the last 4 meetings between these two sides have seen BTTS Final Verdict - Don't expect lots of goals but BTTS is quite possible ___________________________________________________________________________________________ 15:00 Derby vs Rotherham - Prediction 3.1- Suggested Bets - Derby to score 2 or more @8/15, BTTS @10/11, Over 2.5 goals @ 3/4 Key Facts * Derby are unbeaten in their last 8 Championship fixtures with 4 wins in their last 5 * Derby scored 2 or more in all 4 of those wins while they put 4 past Wolves in their most recent home win * Derby are now up to 5th in the table after a poor start to the new season under new boss Paul Clement * Derby have seen BTTS in 4 of their last 6 home Championship fixtures and in 8 of their most recent 12 Championship fixtures * Derby have won their last 2 home league fixtures having failed to win any of the first 4 * Rotherham have seen BTTS in 9 of their last 10 Championship fixtures this season * Rotherham have seen BTTS in 5 of their last 6 away league fixtures * Rotherham have seen over 2.5 goals in 9 of their last 13 Championship fixtures * Rotherham have kept only 2 clean sheets in 17 away Championship fixtures * 5 of Rotherham's last 7 Championship fixtures have seen BTTS and over 2.5 goals * Rotherham have conceded 2 or more in 10 of their last 15 away Championship fixtures including 4 of their last 6. Rotherham lost all of those matches Final Verdict - On form Derby to score 2 or more with BTTS a decent possibility ___________________________________________________________________________________________ 15:00 Reading vs Brighton - Prediction 1.1 - Suggested Bets - BTTS @10/11 Key Facts * Brighton have seen BTTS in 5 of their 6 away league fixtures this season * Brighton have won 3 and drawn 3 of those 6 away fixtures * Brighton remain unbeaten after 13 league fixtures this season and sit 4 points clear at the top and 7 ahead of Reading who are in 7th position * Brighton have kept only 2 clean sheets in their last 9 away league fixtures * Reading have won 6 of their last 9 Championship fixtures although they did crash to a 4.2 loss at Fulham in their most recent fixture * Reading have seen BTTS in only 1 of their last 10 home fixtures mostly due to Reading failing to score in 7 of those 10 fixtures * However Reading are much improved this season and they have won 3 of their last 4, scoring 8 in the process * Reading won last season's corresponding fixture 2.1 * Each of the last 3 meetings between these two sides has seen BTTS Final Verdict - Close battle between two strong sides While Reading rarely produce BTTS fixtures at home, they have improved significantly in attack this season and with Brighton coming into this one unbeaten in the league, we should see a pretty good game with the hosts likely to deploy an attack minded approach and even if their stats are not impressive in the BTTS market, I'm going with my gut on this one, based mostly on both sides current form. Reading's forward line up is pretty impressive for a Championship side with Nick Blackman and Orlando Sa in excellent form while Mathya Vydra and Lucas Piazon offer further options for a team who have genuine promotion ambitions this season and look capable of scoring goals in this increasingly competitive division. I can't pick a winner so I'll sit on the 1.1 draw fence but this one has to have a chance of BTTS at a good price of 10/11. Championship Suggested Bets Derby vs Rotherham - Derby to score 2 or more @8/15 Derby vs Rotherham - BTTS @10/11 Derby vs Rotherham - Over 2.5 goals @ 3/4 Birmingham vs Wolverhampton Wanderers - BTTS @8/11 Bristol City vs Fulham - BTTS @ 4/6 Ipswich vs Cardiff - BTTS @5/6 Reading vs Brighton - BTTS @10/11 Comments are closed.
