It's the final day in the La Liga season and there are still some issues to be sorted out at both the bottom and the top of the table with relegation and Champions League places still to be decided. Valencia and Sevilla are battling it out for 4th place with Valencia just 1 point ahead as they travel to relegation threatened Almeria while Sevilla need to win their fixture at Malaga if they are going to sneak in the back door and into the Champions League qualifiers. It's tense at the bottom with 4 teams in danger of joining already relegated Cordoba in the Segunda division for next season and with 2 places still to be filled, it's going to be a tense evening in Spain for Eibar, Almeria, Deportivo and Granada. Head to head record is the separating factor should teams finish level on points which looking at the fixtures is possible and makes for an even more complicated scenario. Let's take a look at the fixtures that matter tonight in Spain. 16:30 Levante vs Elche - Prediction 0.0 Best Bets - No bet
I'm not really sure why this one is kicking off earlier than the other fixtures (rarely is anything clear in Spain) and with both sides safe and "on the beach" there's little to play for so there won't be any bets from Bo. 18:30 Eibar vs Cordoba - Prediction 2.0 Best Bets -Eibar HT Draw, FT win @5/2 Eibar couldn't have hand picked their final game of the season any better than this with a home fixture against bottom of the table Cordoba their best chance to pick up a vital 3 points that could keep them in the division. Assuming Deportivo lose in the Nou Camp then a win here for the minnows Eibar will secure their safety in the division for another season and I believe they can do it against the only team that have been worse this season in the shape of already relegated Cordoba. Cordoba have just 20 points this season, are without a win in 9 away matches, losing 7 and scoring just 2 goals in that period while their overall form is equally bad with no wins in 4 months and I doubt that they will be especially motivated to win a match against a team desperate for survival in Eibar. Unfortunately for Eibar, their form is pretty wretched with 8 defeats in their last 9 at home and while they should get the win they need but the 3/10 odds on a home win looks pretty crazy to me for a team that are 2nd bottom of the table. It's basically a contest between 2 awful teams, 1 of which is slightly stronger, has home advantage and needs to win. I expect a home win but I don't think I can back them at such short odds. A better option could be to look at the HT/FT betting which shows Eibar as 5/2 to be drawing at HT and winning at the end of 90 minutes as Cordoba, while pretty rubbish, rarely get spanked and I don't expect the 3/10 odds to reflect the nature of the match. It should be low scoring, tight and I expect Eibar to just get the win they need but at 3/10 the bookies can suck it. 18:30 Barcelona vs Deportivo La Coruna - Prediction - 3.0 Best Bets - Barca -1 to win @8/11 Barcelona welcome Depor to the Camp Nou and the stakes couldn't be higher for the visitors who know that if Eibar win their fixture at home to Cordoba then a relegation back to the Segunda division is entirely probable if as expected they lose here at the champions. Barca will want to finish their league campaign on a high and with 2 weeks to go till the Champions League final, it's unlikely they will rest too many, if any of their top stars here. Barca are usually about 1/20 to win at home but with the title wrapped up and Depor needing a result their odds for this one are as "big" as 2/7 which represents a fairly dramatic swing and you can take your chances and back Barca -1 to win @8/11. Sure Depor NEED a result but I don't think that necessity will be the mother of Depor's invention today and I still expect a comfortable win as is the norm when Barca plays at home. The first meeting between the 2 sides in November saw Barca win 5.0 in La Coruna and I don't see why it should be too different when they meet again at the Nou Camp tonight. Obviously team-news is important here but if Barca do take this one seriously then the 8/11 on a home win -1 goal could be a real steal. 18:30 Granada vs Atletico Madrid- Prediction 1.1 Best Bets - Draw @12/5 Granada are one of 4 sides facing relegation worries tonight and they would have preferred an easier opponent than Diego Simeone's Atletico for this crucial fixtures. If Granada lose and Eibar and Almeria both get wins over Cordoba and Sevilla respectively then it will be the men from the south who go down to the Segunda division although such a permutation relies on an unexpected win for Almeria who play host to Valencia. So Granada should be safe but they will be wary of complacency and with only 1 defeat in their last 6 at home, I fancy them to get the point that should keep them up but for me this is not a best bet fixture although a draw seems to be the most likely outcome. 18:30 Almeria vs Valencia - Prediction 2.3 Best Bets - BTTS @ 1.2 BTTS and over 2.5 @ 8/11 I'm expecting a dramatic encounter here with both sides needing 3 points to ensure their end of season targets are met. Valencia need 3 points to ensure they finish the season in 4th but could have asked for an easier fixture as they travel to an Almeria side who need to win or they will be relegated. This is a match which looks ripe for goals with both sides needing the win and looking at the stats we can assume BTTS has a very good chance. Almeria have scored in 10 of their last 13 home fixtures, including each of the last 5 with BTTS in 3 of those 5 while Valencia rarely keep clean sheets on the road with just 2 from their last 16 league fixtures and just 1 in their last 10. Of course Valencia are better in attack and have managed to score in 12 of their last 14 away fixtures including 7 of the last 8 and I expect them to do so here against desperate opponents who need to win. BTTS has occurred in the last 3 meetings between the 2 sides with this season’s fixture in Valencia finishing 3.2 to the hosts while last season’s meeting at Almeria finished in a 2.2 draw but of course that might not be good enough for either side here. I'm going for BTTS despite the short odds of 1/2 as it looks nailed on to me and I also fancy BTTS and over 2.5 @8/11 as I expect both sides to chase the game and goals are sure to follow. Sadly for Almeria, I don't expect them to make a great escape and I can see this one finishing in a narrow away win for the visitors but not without a fight. 18:30 Malaga vs Sevilla 1.2- Prediction, Best Bets - Sevilla to win @1/1, BTTS and over 2.5 goals @4/6, Sevilla to score 2 or more @8/13 Sevilla need to win and hope that Valencia drop points at Almeria if they are going to sneak into the top 4 positions and they take on the challenge against 8th placed Malaga who have little to play for beyond their own professional pride. Goals look very likely but the price of 2/5 on BTTS is ridiculously short in my eyes. Sevilla are the true kings of BTTS when they go away from home with 9 of their last 10 in La Liga following that outcome while they almost always score on the road as well with 16 of their 18 away games yielding at least 1 goal. Only the tough defences of Atletico Madrid and Bilbao were able to keep a clean sheet against this free-scoring outfit and with Champions League qualification still a possibility, you can bet that Sevilla will be gunning for goals here. Sevilla are a team that focus on scoring goals and with just 4 clean sheets in 18 on the road you would expect a decent Malaga to score as well but maybe we can look at Sevilla scoring 2 or more @ odds having managed the feat in 5 of their last 7 away. In turn, Malaga have conceded 2 or more in 4 of their last 7 home games so it definitely has a chance at decent odds of 8/13. Malaga have scored in 14 of their last 15 home league games with 10 of those also seeing BTTS including each of their last 4 home games and 6 of their last 7 overall. I fancy goals, Sevilla to win and BTTS so finding the right bet is crucial with the 2/5 odds on BTTS really damn short so I think I’ll try BTTS and over 2.5 goals @8/13, Sevilla to win @1/1 and Sevilla to score 2 or more @8/13. 18:30 Athletic Club vs Villarreal - Prediction 1.1 - Best Bets -Draw @11/4 Draw. It's a meaningless game and Villareal have drawn a remarkable 11 out of 18 away games, including each of their last 6! Not a best bet but why the heck not at 11/4 odds. 20:30 Real Madrid vs Getafe - Prediction 4.0 - Best Bets - Ronaldo to score 2 or more @ 6/5 It's not often I'll tip this kind of bet but Ronaldo will be determined to ensure he finishes the season as top goal scorer both in Spain and in Europe to ensure he wins the coveted Golden Boot and I have a feeling he's gonna give Getafe a beating tonight. 4 ahead of Messi, you would think Ronnie is secure of the title but I don't expect him to rest on his laurels and wouldn't be surprised to see him score at least 2 in this game against a Getafe that have shipped 35 goals in 18 away games this season. The visitors have conceded 4 goals in each of their last 4 visits to the Bernabeu and with nothing to play for here I doubt they will put up too much resistance to Ronaldo and co in what could be Carlo Ancellotti's final match in charge.
