We have just 2 leagues to look at in Europe today with a full card from the penultimate day of the season in Germany as well as a couple of fixtures from Serie A to consider. PSG can clinch the title in France but will be without their key man Zlatan as they take a trip to beautiful Montpellier knowing a point will secure another Ligue 1 crown. Relegation is the main issue still to be decided in Deutchland and there are some crucial games today, none more so than the battle of the sleeping giants as Hamburg and Stuttgart face-off with the loser destined for relegation. Here are today's predictions, previews and best bets from the best of the action in Europe today. Bundesliga
15:30 Wolfsburg vs Borussia Dortmund- Prediction 2.2- Best Bet - BTTS @1/2, BTTS and over 2.5 @4/5 Wolfsburg still require some points if they are to claim 2nd place and an automatic place in next seasons Champions League and the visit of Dortmund with their outgoing manager Jurgen Klopp is certainly not going to be an easy ride for the home side. Wolfsburg have been magnificent on their own patch this season with 12 wins, 4 draws and not 1 solitary defeat while Dortmund have won just 4 of their 16 away games this season although the improvement in Klopp's men since the turn of the year has been discernible and I'm not sure about picking a winner here. As usual I prefer to look for goals and this match looks a top contendor with the stats for BTTS and over 2.5 goals looking pretty firm. Dortmund have scored in 8 of their last 9 away games with 6 of those seeing BTTS including their last 3 away games in the league while Wolfsburg have scored in every single home game this season while they have also seen BTTS in 7 of their last 9 home league matches. The over 2.5 goal stats also suggest we should see a good game here with 7 of Wolfsburgs last 8 home fixtures going over 2.5 while 5 of Dortmund's last 8 away games have also followed the pattern and the historical context between the sides make this a compelling bet; 10 of their last 12 meetings went over 2.5 goals with 9 of those seeing BTTS. BTTS and over 2.5 goals is priced @4/5 but you might want to play it safer with the BTTS option at 1/2. 15:30 Bayer Leverkusen vs Hoffenheim - Prediction 3.1- Best Bet - Leverkusen -1 to win Leverkusen are in excellent form at home with 5 wins from their last 5 and they will expect to make it 6 here against visitors Hoffenheim I fancy the hosts to cover the handicap with 6 of their 9 home wins this season coming by more than a 1 goal margin of victory while Hoffeheim have lost by more than 1 goal in 6 of their 8 away defeats. 15:30 Augsburg vs Hannover 96 - Prediction 1.1 - Best Bet - Draw @12/5 Augsburg are still clinging on to a Europa League position while Hannover are 3rd from bottom and on course to be relegated if they don't get a result in either of their final matches. I'm not convinced we will see a lot of goals here but the stats on a draw make sense with Augsburg drawing 3 of their last 6 at home and Hannover drawing 3 of their last 6 on the road. It won't be a best bet but a draw does look possible here with both sides desperate to get something from this fixture. 15:30 Hertha Berlin vs Eintracht Frankfurt - Prediction 2.1- Best Bet - Hertha to win @1/1 Hertha need the points to ensure they stay in the top flight for another season and the visit of a Frankfurt side that are already safe but have lost their 6 of their last 6 on the road should prove to be an ideal opponent. Of course Hertha are no great shakes but given their need and the poor away form of Eintracht, I feel the 1/1 on offer is pretty good value. 15:30 Werder Bremen vs Borussia M.Gladbach - Prediction 1.2- Best Bet - BTTS @4/7 9 of the last 12 and each of the last 5 meetings between these two sides have seen BTTS and I expect a repeat in this fixture today. Werder have scored in 10 of their last 12 home games while the visitors have scored in 8 of their last 10 away Bundesliga fixtures. I'm not entirely convinced though with Werder keeping 3 clean sheets in their last 3 games so I may give this one a miss given the relatively short price on offer. 15:30 Freiburg vs Bayern Munich - Prediction 1.0- Best Bet - Freiburg to win @6/1 Freiburg are looking for points to avoid the drop and they welcome champions Bayern whose season is as good as over following their Champions League exit this past Tuesday. The hosts are 6/1 to win and while it seems unlikely, Bayern have lost 5 in a row and with little motivation remaining for this season, Freiburg's energy and desire could be enough to get them a shock win. Still, this is a punters pick and won't feature in my best bets of the day. 15:30 VfB Stuttgart vs Hamburger SV- Prediction 1.0- Best Bet = No bet Perhaps the most important fixture in the Bundesliga today as bottom of the table Stuttgart take on 14th placed Hamburg with just 2 points separating the two sides. Stuttgart are unbeaten in their last 5 at home while Hamburg have an awful away record with just 3 wins all season and having lost 5 of their last 6 away games, i feel Stuttgart may have the edge here. It's sure to be a tightly contested fixture but Stuttgart may do enough to claim the win @3/4 odds which do look pretty skinny to be fair but given the woeful away form of Hamburg who have only scored 8 goals on the road all season you can understand why. I fancy the home win but for me, 3/4 odds on for a team at the foot of the table is a bit short. Perhaps we might get 5/6 before kick-off. Still, a home win looks likely for Stuttgart. 15:30 Mainz 05 vs FC Cologne - Prediction 1.1- Best Bet - No bet A match up between 2 sides with little to play for in the division and that means no bet for Bo. Serie A 18:00 Inter vs Juventus - Prediction 2.1- Best Bet - Inter to win @5/4, BTTS @8/11 Inter will fancy their chances here against Champions League finalists Juventus who are sure to make huge changes to their team with the title already in the bag and 2 cup finals to come in the coming weeks. Inter are unbeaten in 7 and should be confident if it is in fact Juve's 2nd 11 that starts the game and while they draw too many games, Inter have looked decent lately, winning at Lazio last weekend and they can claim the points here assuming we see a barely recognisable starting 11. BTTS is possible in this fixture with the market appearing in each of the last 5 meetings and is available at 8/11. Juventus were outstanding in upsetting Real Madrid on Wednesday and they have a huge chance to make history by completing an unlikely treble. Barcelona awaits. 20:45 Sampdoria vs Lazio - Prediction 1.1- Best Bet -Samp not to lose @4/6 Only Juventus have won in Genoa this season, albeit in Sampdoria's last home fixture but I fancy them to run Lazio close and claim a share of the spoils. Sampdoria are 9/4 to claim the win but 4/6 not to lose on a team that almost never lose at home looks good to me. Bo's Best Bets Leverkusen -1 to win @1/1 Wolfsburg v Dortmund - BTTS @1/2 Wolfsburg v Dortmund BTTS and over 2.5 goals @4/5 Sampdoria not to lose @4/6 Hertha to beat E Frankfurt Inter to beat Juventus @5/4 Inter v Juventus - BTTS @8/11 Comments are closed.
