I've focused on just 4 games for my best bets on Saturday with 2 games from Spain, 1 from the PL and 1 more coming from the Swiss Super Liga although that preview and all the key facts are contained in this week's newsletter along with leg 3 of the 50 to 500 challenge. If you want those details, sign up now! So I've covered the big game from England as Arsenal take on Liverpool at Anfield and I fancy goals in the games involving the big two in Spain as Real travel to Eibar and Barcelona welcome Celta Vigo to the Camp Nou. Here then are my Key Facts and Best Bets for the best of Saturday's action #BOlieve 15:15 Eibar vs Real Madrid
Prediction – 2.2 Best Bets – BTTS @4/6, BTTS and over 2.5 goals @1/1, Eibar not to lose @5/4 Key Facts
LATE TEAM NEWS Real Madrid are without the suspended Bale, Morata and now the Injured Ronaldo Final Verdict BTTS @ 8/13 = Implied Probability of 62% BTTS and over 2.5 goals scored @ 10/11= Implied Probability of 52% Final Result I was strongly considering this selection even before Real conceded 3 at home to Las Palmas on Wednesday and considering the form of Eibar, BTTS has to be expected again here with this one also likely to go over 2.5 goals as well although with Real missing Ronaldo, Bale and Morata, then the likes of Isco and Vazquez will likely be called upon to deputise. Eibar have really had a fantastic season and while they have never scored at home to Real previously, I'm backing them to break that duck here in what should prove to be an interesting fixture. with Real likely to struggle here without their key men. I'm backing Eibar to get a result @5/4 while BTTS seems highly likely as well. Best Bets – BTTS @4/6, BTTS and over 2.5 goals @1/1,Eibar not to lose @5/4 17:30 Liverpool vs Arsenal Prediction 2.2 Best Bets – BTTS @8/13, BTTS and over 2.5 goals @1/1 Key Facts
Final Verdict BTTS @8/13 = Implied Probability of 62% BTTS and over 2.5 goals @1/1 = Implied Probability of 50% Final Result Recent form and history both sit favourably in our side for these selections with this contest almost always producing drama and goals and I expect something entirely similar here with both sides desperate for a positive result following some serious disappointment of late. Liverpool were comprehensively beaten by Leicester on Monday night as their mid-season slump continued apace while Arsenal are still licking their wounds from a truly horrific loss to Bayern a fortnight ago which has surely condemned the Gunners to a 6th successive last 16 exit in the Champions League and another year of relative failure for their under-pressure gaffer, Arsene Wenger. Given those recent disappointments, I expect both sides to be well and truly fired up for this one and goals look very likely with BTTS occurring 12 of the last 13 meetings between these two sides at Anfield and in 20 of their last 25 meetings (80%, home and away) over the last 10 years. With 10 of the last 13 meetings at Anfield also seeing BTTS and over 2.5 goals, the value is there to take that selection at 1/1 odds (implied probability of 50%) with the BTTS pick priced alone @8/13 odds. Picking a winner is always difficult in this contest although Arsenal are certainly not doing as badly as Liverpool who have now lost 3 of their last 5 PL fixtures with only 2 wins coming in their last 12 games in all competitions but a response must be expected here for the hosts in what is a crucial fixture in the battle for Champions League places and I do expect them to match Arsenal in what should prove to be a lively, back and forth contest with goals and a possible share of the spoils my prediction for this one. Best Bets – BTTS @8/13, BTTS and over 2.5 goals @1/1 19:45 Barcelona vs Celta Vigo Prediction 3.2 Best Bets - BTTS and over 2.5 goals @10/11 Key Facts
BTTS @4/5 = Implied Probability of 55.6% BTTS and over 2.5 goals @ 20/21 = Implied Probability of 51.2% Final Verdict Barcelona have not been at their best lately although a mid-week 6.1 win over Sporting will have helped to boast their confidence ahead of this more difficult assignment against a strong Celta side that have certainly enjoyed recent success over the Catalan giants. With Luis Enrique now announcing that this will be his last season with Barca, it remains to be seen if the effects of that decision and subsequent announcement will have a positive or negative effect on team-spirit and confidence within the dressing room and while Barcelona have gained ground on Real Madrid in recent weeks, their own form has been poor with a 4.0 loss at PSG probably sealing the fate of the aforementioned Enrique and I fancy the visitors to put up a strong showing here in a fixture that has proved particularly challenging for Barcelona in the last 2 years. Celta have been very busy of late with this their 8th fixture in the last 4 weeks over 3 different competitions and while you wouldn’t expect them to win here, they most certainly can score against a Barca defence that has been particularly charitable lately. BTTS and over 2.5 goals is priced @20/21 here and while that is not an especially generous price, I do expect that outcome with Barcelona more than likely to score 2 or more and the visitors quite capable of a goal or two themselves.
