Saturday's really are a nightmare in terms of studying for all the action we have on offer which is why I am sticking with what I know in the early part of the season with the Premier League and Championship my 2 favourite leagues to focus on. La Liga, Bundesliga, Serie A, and Eredivisie football is all on offer today as well as all of the lower leagues in the UK so obviously there is just not enough hours in the day to look at them all but I have studied all evening and picked out my best selections from the countless fixtures on offer. It looks like a tough card in the Championship but i have a few selections to add to those from the Premier League in my previous post as well us one bet from Scotland. Here are my suggested bets and some short previews for the Championship as well as 1 fixture from Scotland and another from Germany. Championship
16:00 Middlesbrough vs Bristol City = Prediction - 3.0 - 'Boro to win @ 4/7 I fancy the home team will be far too strong for newly promoted but ambitious Bristol City who have struggled so far since their promotion. I expected the hosts to be shorter than 4/7 and I would imagine they will go below 1/2 pre kick-off and they should get the job done with something to spare as well if you want to be brave and back them @6/5 on the handicap. 16:00 Bolton vs Nottingham Forest - Prediction 1.1- Draw @ 12/5 Neither side in form with Bolton drawing 3 of their last 5 at home going back to last season while Forest have drawn 3 of their last 6 on the road and I'm going for a share of the spoils here. 16:00 Charlton vs Hull - Prediction 1.1 - Best Bets - BTTS @ 10/11, Draw @ 23/10 Charlton have lost just 2 of their last 9 at home and are always a hard team to beat, especially in front of their own supporters, and I think we will see BTTS and another draw here with Hull yet to hit top form in their return to the lower division. 5 of Hull's last 6 away games saw BTTS while Charlton have recorded 5 out of 7 BTTS results in their previous home fixtures. I expect a tough competitive contest with BTTS priced @10/11 and the draw @23/10. 16:00 Fulham vs Huddersfield - Prediction 2.1- Best Bets - No bets Fulham have 1 clean sheet in their last 13 home games and while Huddersfield are no hot-shots on the road, I do believe we might see some goals here. The visitors have managed to score in 7 of 11 away games but none in their last 3 and so for that reason I'm going to leave it out. 16:00 Queens Park Rangers vs Rotherham - Prediction 3.1 - Best Bets, QPR to win @3/4, Austin to score @10/11 QPR won impressively at Wolves in midweek and they should have too much quality for an ordinary Rotherham side who don't have anyone like a Charlie Austin to score their goals for them. I fancy an easy win and a goal or 2 for the England hit-man Austin who could be playing his final game(S) for the club with plenty of teams sure to make a late bit to land a player who should be playing in the top league. For now, it is to QPR's advantage that they still have a man capable of scoring lots of goals at this level. Home win @3/4. 16:00 Brighton vs Blackburn - Prediction - 2.0 - Best Bets - Brighton to win @21/20 Blackburn are struggling for goals and with Jordan Rhodes expected to miss this one, I fancy the home team who seem to have made improvements over the summer and have started the season brightly, pardon the pun. Rovers minus Gestede, Rhodes and King = no goals and I see an away day loss here for a team badly in need of new investment. Other fixtures from the Championship. 13:30 Leeds vs Sheffield Wednesday = No bets 16:00 Reading vs Milton Keynes Dons - no bets 16:00 Preston vs Ipswich - no bets 16:00 Burnley vs Brentford - No bets 18:15 Cardiff vs Wolverhampton Wanderers - No bets SPFL Premier League 16:00 - Hearts v Partick - Prediction 3.1 - Best Bets - Hearts to win @10/11 Hearts look way too big a price here considering the form they have shown since their promotion with 4 successive wins and with Thistle yet to win this season, I expect a home win for an under-rated team. Bundesliga 15:30 - Koln v Wolfsburg - Prediction 2.1 - Best Bets - Koln to win, draw no bet @13/8, BTTS @8/13 This one has goals written all over it with Koln having a fine pre-season and starting the season with a win. The home side saw BTTS in 6 of their last 7 home fixtures, including their last fixture of last season, a 2.2 draw with today's opponents. Wolfsburg look set to lose star man De Bruyne to Man City while key man Schurrle remains sidelined but they usually score in away games do Wolfsburg (12 of 14) and I fancy a close game with Koln taking something as well, perhaps even a surprise win. 15:30 - Hannover v Leverkusen - Prediction 1.2- Best Bets - BTTS @4/7 Goals are on the cards here with Hannover hosting Leverkusen today. BTTS has occurred in 11 of Hannover's last 12 at home in the league, and they almost always score themselves with goals scored in 17 of their last 18 at home. Leverksuen are stronger, but have only 4 clean sheets in 14 away games from last season and I fancy both to hit the onion bag today although the away side should have enough to claim the spoils. Suggested Bets Middlesbrough to beat Bristol City @4/7 QPR to beat Rotherham @3/4 Charlie Austin to score anytime @10/11 Charlton v Hull - BTTS @10/11 Brighton to beat Blackburn @21/20 Hearts to beat Partick @10/11 Koln v Woflsburg, BTTS @8/13 Hannover v Leverkusen - BTTS @4/7 Dour Draws Bolton v Forest Charlton v Hull Comments are closed.
