I did pretty well in midweek on the Championship and we have 11 more games to look at on Saturday. The fight for promotion is really hotting up with so many teams still capable of winning the division and down at the bottom, a lot of scrapping between now and the end of the season is of course assured. Due to the volume of games on offer, I will not be writing a preview for all of the games, but rather the ones I find most interesting from a betting perspective. Birmingham v Brentford - Prediction 1.2 - Best Bet - Brentford to win - 29/20 Brentford are still very much in the promotion hunt and travel to St Andrews on Saturday looking for another 3 points to keep them very much in the thick of things. 7 goals in their last 2 home games with 6 points to boot was just was what they needed after the disappointing decision to part company with manager Mark Warburton at the end of the season. Birmingham have gone off the boil in recent weeks, failing to win any of their last 6 and I think the away side can win here, given their excellent record on the road and the continued poor form of the hosts. Blackpool v Wigan - Prediction 2.0- Best Bet - Blackpool to win @ 5/2 Wigan are in absolute free fall at the minute and on Saturday come face to face with the only side below them in the table, Lee Clark's Blackpool. Under "big" Malky, Wigan have, if anything, gotten worse and while they did win their last away fixture at Reading, I feel their morale is at all time low now and will not enjoy the trip to Blackpool on a pitch that leaves a whole lot to be desired. The Seasiders have lost only 1 in their last 5 home games and seem to be improving somewhat under Lee Clark while the visitors form goes from bad to worse with last weeks 3.0 thumping by Charlton a new low point in a season that has shocked many. Perhaps playing away from home will help Wigan but I think Blackpool a@5/2 are worth a punt on Saturday, probably for low stakes due to their recent improvement and Wigan's lack there of. Bolton v Brighton - Prediction - Best Bet - Preciction - 2.1 - Best Bet - AVOID This is not one I want to get involved in. No bet for Bo. Bournemouth v Blackburn - Prediction -2.1 Best Bet - BTTS @4/6 The stats are pointing to a BTTS game here with Blackburn the best team in the division in this market with 75% of all their away games going with BTTS while Bournemouth themselves are usually involved in high scoring encounters be it home or away. Bournemouth are going through something of a slump with no wins in 4 and during that time, BTTS has occurred in each match, in fact in each of their last 5 games. I expect the home side to get back to winning ways here but I prefer the BTTS on offer at 4/6 given the record of Blackburn and the fact that the Cherries have not been quite at their best lately. If you like Bournemouth to win, the price is 8/11 but I would be concerned about their recent form with no wins in 4/ Cardiff v Wolves - Prediction - 1.1 - Best Bet - Avoid Wolves are in the better form but there are no obvious bets that jump out here so I will avoid this one/ Charlton v Huddersfield - Prediction -1.0 Best Bet - AVOID Huddersfield have burned me too many times. NO BET Best Bets Brentford to beat Birmingham - 6/4 Bournemouth v Blackburn - BTTS @ 4/6 Comments are closed.
