11 Games in the Championship with 5 of them attracting some close attention. 13:15 Middlesbrough vs Ipswich -Prediction 2.0- Best Bet - Boro to win @10/11
Five wins from six has sent Boro' to the top of an incredibly close league they will fancy their chances of winning again today at home to Ipswich. Ipswich have only won one of their last five matches and as a result and have dropped out of the playoffs and having lost four of their last five on the road too, the recent form suggests a home win. There is just 1 point seperating the top 5 and Ipswich themselves are only 5 points off the top of the table themselves and need a good result to get things back on track but I don't think they will get it today. However, it is the early game so perhaps I will be leaving this one alone. 16:00 Norwich vs Derby -Prediction 2.1- Best Bet - Norwich to win @11/10, Norwich to score 2 or more at 1/1 Another huge match from the top of table as 2 of the sides who let me down most recently face off at Carrow Road. Norwich have won 7 of their last 8 matches in the Championship andhave scored at least 2 goals in all of those wins. Of course followers of the blog will know that their 1 defeat and 1 blank was at home to Wigan when poor old Bo went big on the home win and over 1.5 goal market. Sad day. Derby have gone off the rails, losing their lost 2 away games, and somehow contriving to throw away a 2 goal advantage at home to Birmingham with 2 stoppage time goals conceded to drop another 2 points. They are badly missing strikers Chris Martin and Darren Bent in attack while they have conceded at least 2 goals in their last 4 away matches in the Championship. Jesse Lingard and Thomas Ince give them attacking quality and I think BTTS is entirely possible but I'm backing a Norwich win @ 11/10 odds and again feel tempted by the even money on offer for Norwich to score 2 or more goals. 16:00 Bournemouth vs Blackpool -Prediction 4.0- Best Bet - Bournemouth -1 to win @8/15, Bourenmouth to score 3 or more @5/6 This looks one of the more certain home bankers tomorrow as Bournemouth take on relegation certainties Blackpool as they look to get back on the promotion hunt. Blackpool conceded 7 at Watford, 4 at Brentford and 4 at Norwich in the last 6 weeks and I expect a similar outcome tomorrow with the home side more than capable of turning it on. 16:00 Bolton vs Millwall -Prediction 2.0 - Best Bet - Avoid Not betting on this one but Lennon's Bolton should beat a Millwall side in deep trouble and having sacked manager Ian Holloway this week it remains to be seen if Millwall will get a reaction from their players as is often the case when a manager leaves. No bet for Bo. 16:00 Brentford vs Cardiff -Prediction 2.1- Best Bet - Brentford to win @17/20, over 2.5 goals at 20/21 Brentford are performing well at home and should claim 3 points here against a Cardiff side with little to play for in the final 2 months of the season. There have been over 2.5 goals scored in 9 of Brentford's last 11 home games in Championship and something similar is priced at 20/21 and could be a good bet here. Cardiff have won their last 2 on the road and are without a defeat in 4 away games but I expect that run to end tomorrow as there form remains up and down having lost at home to Charlton last week and I like the Bees to win again tomorrow with goals a good possibility. 16:00 Leeds vs Nottingham Forest -Prediction 2.3- Best Bet - BTTS @ 8/11 / BTTS and over 2.5 goals @5/4 Both of these sides are in excellent form at the moment and with little to play for, I expect some goals and a real end to end contest. There have been over 2.5 goals scored in Nottingham Forest's last 8 games in Championship with Forest having scored at least 2 goals in 7 of their last 8 matches in the Championship. 16:00 Watford vs Reading -Prediction 2.0- Best Bet - Watford to win @3/6 Reading head to Watford knowing they face an FA Cup Quarter final reply on Monday night and I expect them to rest several players for this one and find it hard to imagine that they will be giving 100% with such a huge match to come just 48 hours later. For that reason, I am all over Watford to win here at 4/6 odds, especially given their recent home form which has seen them win 5 from 6 and reach the summit of the league. 16:00 Rotherham vs Wigan Prediction 0.2 - Best Bet - Avoid Not a game I am especially interested in but Wigan are much better on the road with 3 away wins on the spin and Rotherham are not great at home which leads me to conclude that an away win at almost 2/1 odds is overpriced but this won't be making it in to my bets today because there are better games out there to focus on. 16:00 Charlton vs Blackburn -Prediction 2.1- Best Bet - Charlton to win @ 2/1. over 2.5 goals @ 1/1 Charlton have been impresive lately, winning 5 from 6 and scoring plenty of goals in the process. New boss Guy Luzon has got the team playing some good football and with Blackburn distracted by their FA Cup campaign, I think the home side will claim the 3 points here and the odds on the home win are very tempting at 2/1. When you take a closer look at their form, you can see Charlton have scored 13 in thier las6 games, winning 5, including the last 3 at home. There have also been over 2.5 goals scored in 7 of Charlton's last 8 games in Championship and wih Blackburn being involved in plenty of BTTS matches on the road, I think that bet has a good chance as well at 8/11 odds. 16:00 Brighton vs Wolverhampton Wanderers -Prediction 1.1 - Best Bet - Avoid No bet here with Brighton winning 4 out of 5 at home and although Wolves are the superior team they remain inconsistant so this is another game to avoid for me. 16:00 Birmingham vs Huddersfield -Prediction 1.0- Best Bet - Avoid Don't touch this one but under 2.5 goals looks possible. 16:00 Sheffield Wednesday vs Fulham -Prediction 1.1 - Best Bet - Avoid Too many games in this league eh? no bet here, with at least 5 or 6 matches from this division holiding more appeal for Bo.
