It's been a bit of a tough week @bobreaksbookies with the loss of my internet for more than 24 hours giving me less time to study what looks like a difficult card both domestically and in Europe. I've got 5 previews for the Premier League action and I will post further previews in the coming hours for the Championship and Bunesliga as well. Here's what I've come up with for the best of the Premier League today. Premier League
15:00 Sunderland vs Southampton - Prediction -2.2 - Suggested Bets - BTTS @5/6, Sunderland not to lose @23/20 Key Facts * 7 of Sunderland's last 10 fixtures (in all competitions) have gone over 2.5 goals * Sunderland have seen BTTS in 3 out of 5 home PL fixtures this season * Sunderland have conceded 21 in 11 PL fixtures with only 1 clean sheet coming in the derby with Newcastle * That win over Newcastle was Sunderland's first win 14 PL fixtures * Sunderland have scored 7 goals in their last 4 PL fixtures * Sunderland have kept just 2 clean sheets in their last 8 home PL fixtures * Sunderland lost 6.2 in their most recent PL fixture at Everton * Southampton have lost only 1 of their last 9 PL fixtures * Southapton have drawn 4 of their last 5 away PL fixtures * 5 of Southampton's last 6 PL fixtures have seen BTTS * 5 of the last 7 meetings between these two sides have seen BTTS * 3 of the last 4 PL meetings between these two sides at the Stadium of Light have finished as draws * Saints have not won in any of their last 6 trips to Sunderland * Southampton did thump Sunderland 8.0 at home last season but Sunderland got some form of revenge in the reverse fixture, winning 2.1 on the last day of the season Final Verdict I have a sneaky little feeling that we might see an improved performance from Sunderland here with the Sam Allardyce effect bound to kick in at some point and while Saints are in good form, they don't have a great record on Wearside in recent seasons with no wins in their last 6 visits although the bookies have them at odds on 8/11 to pick up 3 points and break that sequence. Sunderland are big favourites for the drop but they have only lost 1 of their last 4 at home, that a narrow 1.0 loss to Spurs and I fancy them to take something here at 23/20 not to lose with Allarydce likely to have drilled them hard following that painful 6.2 loss at Everton and I expect an improvement tomorrow. BTTS looks like having a good chance at a nice price of 5/6 with Saints involved in plenty of high-scoring fixtures lately (21 goals scored in last 6 games played) but I'm tipping the home side to put in a good showing and earn them selves a point in a scoring draw and you can back Sunderland not to lose @23/20. It might not be the most popular selection but it's just my own personal hunch that Sunderland will be better than recent weeks. Don't let me down now Sam. __________________________________________________________________________________________ 15:00 Norwich vs Swansea - Prediction - 2.2 - Suggested Bets - BTTS @8/11 Key Facts * Norwich have seen BTTS in 9 of their 11 league fixtures this season * 6 of Norwich's last 8 home fixtures have seen BTTS including 4 out of 5 this season * 14 of Norwich's last 18 competitive fixtures have seen BTTS * Norwich have lost their last 4 successive league fixture and are without a win in 7 fixtures in all competitions * Norwich had scored in 8 successive home fixtures before losing 1.0 to WBA 2 weeks ago * Swansea have seen BTTS in 4 out of 5 away PL fixtures this season * Swansea have kept only 1 clean sheet in their last 9 away PL fixtures * Swansea have managed to score in 15 of their last 20 away PL fixtures * Swansea have won only 1 in 6 on the road so far this season * Swansea aren't in great form either with only 1 win and 4 losses in their last 7 PL fixtures Final Verdict - Goals a good possibility here I fancy this one to be an open contest with Norwich usually involved in BTTS fixtures and desperately in need of 3 points here against a Swansea side that have struggled on the road of late. Swansea do usually score on their travels though and given Norwich's own impressive goal-scoring rate at home, my expectation is that BTTS is good @4/5 and I have a feeling the spoils will be shared here as well and a draw may find it's way into one of my small stake lines. ___________________________________________________________________________________________ 15:00 West Ham vs Everton - Prediction - 2.2 - Suggested Bets - BTTS @8/13, BTTS and over 2.5 goals @20/21 Key Facts * West Ham have seen BTTS in 4 out of 5 home PL fixtures this season and in 6 of their 7 most recent fixtures * West Ham have scored 2 goals or more in 9 out of 11 league fixtures this season * West Ham have conceded 9 goals in those 5 home fixtures with only 1 clean sheet * West Ham have not kept a clean sheet in any of their last 6 PL fixtures * West Ham have kept only 3 clean sheets in their last 12 home PL fixtures * West Ham have only lost 1 in their last 8 PL fixtures, that their most recent away game at Watford * Everton have seen BTTS in 4 of their last 5 PL fixtures and in 3 out of 5 away PL fixtures this season * There have been 8 goals scored in Everton's last two PL away games. The previous two both finished 0.0 * Everton have seen BTTS in 6 of their last 9 away PL fixtures since May * Everton have lost only 1 of their last 6 away PL fixtures * 13 of the last 15 meetings between these two sides since 2008 have seen BTTS * 9 of the last 10 meetings at Upton Park have seen BTTS. 7 of those also went over 2.5 goals * Everton are unbeaten in their last 16 PL meetings with West Ham since 2007! * West Ham did knock Everton out of last year's FA Cup via replay and then penalties. * Everton won 2.1 at West Ham on the final day of last season * Everton have won on 7 of their last 8 PL matches at Upton Park Final Verdict - BTTS very likely here Everton have a tremendous record over West Ham and they will be confident of taking something back to Liverpool having won on 7 of their last 8 trips south to face the Hammers. West Ham have been better on the road so far this season but they have won 2 of their last 3 at home although with just 1 clean sheet in 5 home fixtures, this looks like a really good selection for BTTS. Historically the fixture almost always delivers and considering the recent form of both sides, I'm marking this down as one of my best selections of the day. BTTS is 8/13 and that's fine by me while I fancy it could go over 2.5 goals as well so I'll try the combination @20/21 ___________________________________________________________________________________________ 15:00 Leicester vs Watford - Prediction - 2.1 - Suggested Bets - Leicester to score 2 or more @4/5, BTTS @8/11, BTTS and over 2.5 goals @21/20 Key Facts * Leicester have seen BTTS in 13 of their last 14 fixtures and in 10 out of 11 PL fixtures * Leicester have conceded 2 or more in 6 out of 11 PL fixtures this season including in 5 of their last 7 * Leicester have conceded 19 goals in 11 PL fixtures so far this season * Leicester have scored in 22 of their last 23 fixtures in all competitions since March * Leicester have scored 2 or more in 6 of their last 7 PL fixtures * Jamie Vardy is looking to become only the fourth player to score in 9 successive PL fixtures. * Leicester have lost only 2 of their last 20 PL fixtures * Leicester have won 8 of their last 11 at home in the PL * Leicester have scored in 20 of their last 21 PL fixtures * Leicester have conceded 10 goals in 5 home PL fixtures this season with 1 clean sheet * Watford have scored 2 or more in 11 of their last 13 away league fixtures (9 of those 11 in the Championship) * Watford have scored in 17 of their last 20 away league fixtures including 4 out of 5 away PL fixtures this season * Watford have only lost 3 of 11 PL fixtures since their promotion to the PL with Arsenal, Man City and Palace the only sides to beat them so far * Watford have won 4 of their last 7 PL fixtures, including their last 2 with 16 points collected from 11 fixtures so far this season Final Verdict - BTTS has every chance Watford are really impressing since their promotion to the PL and this won't be an easy fixture for Leicester who remain in tremendous form with 22 points taken from just 11 fixtures. The hosts have seen BTTS in every game bar one this season and I'm backing them to return to the market with Watford more than capable of scoring having done so in 4 out of 5 away PL fixtures this season while scoring 7 goals in the process and they should have a chance to score here at Leicester where most of the home sides fixtures produce goals. I'm going for BTTS @8/11 and Leicester to score 2 or more @4/5 as my two favoured selections here while this one is also likely to go over 2.5 goals @21/20. ___________________________________________________________________________________________ 17:30 Stoke vs Chelsea - Prediction -1.1 - Suggested Bets - BTTS @5/6 Key Facts * Stoke have seen BTTS in 6 of their last 10 home league fixtures * Stoke have kept only 1 clean sheet in their last 10 home league fixtures and just 4 in their last 21 home PL fixtures in the last year * Chelsea have seen BTTS in 5 of their last 7 away PL fixtures * Chelsea have conceded 2 or more in each of their last 6 away PL fixtures and in 9 out of 11 league fixtures this season. Wow. * Chelsea have seen BTTS in 8 of their last 10 fixtures in all competitions * Chelsea have kept only 2 clean sheets in their last 14 PL fixtures since April * Chelsea earned a nervy 2.1 win over Dinamo Kiev on Wednesday in the CL * Chelsea have won only 2 of their last 6 trips to Stoke including a League Cup exit just 2 weeks ago with Stoke winning on penalties after a 1.1 draw Final Verdict - Both to score but can't pick a winner Chelsea may have beaten Dinamo Kiev on Wednesday but but their PL form is still at rock botom and a trip to Stoke is never the easiest place, even at the best of times and this for a team still looking to turn the corner following a quite stunningly poor start to the season. 2 goals or more have been conceded by Chelsea in 9 out of 11 PL fixtures and that itself is an outstandingly bad record for a team that are current champions. Hell, that's a bad record for any team, let alone Chelsea and I doubt they will keep a clean sheet here against a side that tend to save their best for the big boys and with the Sky live cameras here for this one, I expect Mark Hughes side to put in a good performance and give Jose further reason to be a **** in his post match interview. i'm not picking a winner, even if I do lean towards the home side, but I do fancy BTTS @5/6 and it certainly wouldn't surprise me to see Chelsea's troubles continue but BTTS is my only pick here with this contest pretty tough to call given the inconsistent form of both sides, both in terms of results and keeping clean sheets. The history books tells us that Chelsea usually beat Stoke and they have done so in 7 of their last 8 PL contests but it would take a brave man to back them here @1/1 odds given their recent troubles and I'm not picking a winner with a draw my prediction for this one in a game that has a good chance of bringing up my favourite BTTS outcome. PL Suggested Bets Sunderland vs Southampton - BTTS @5/6 Sunderland vs Southampton - Sunderland not to lose @23/20 Norwich vs Swansea - BTTS @8/11 West Ham vs Everton - BTTS @8/13 West Ham vs Everton - BTTS and over 2.5 goals @20/21 Leicester vs Watford - Leicester to score 2 or more @4/5, Leicester vs Watford - BTTS @8/11 Leicester vs Watford - BTTS and over 2.5 goals @21/20 Stoke vs Chelsea - BTTS @5/6 Comments are closed.
