The weekend is here and as ever, @bobreaksbookies has been hard at work analysing and previewing the best of the action from UK and abroad. I've decided to split my previews into two, with an English preview and a European preview covering the best of the action across the continent with a 3rd installment detailing my final selections. Look out for my "best bets" preview to follow on Saturday morning. For Saturday's card, I've picked out the big live TV encounter between Liverpool and Chelea as well as 3 other fixtures from the Championship with my full European preview also available now! #BOlieve Premier League
17:30 Liverpool vs Chelsea - Prediction 1.1 Best Bets - BTTS @8/13, Draw @12/5 Key Facts * 11 of the last 12 PL meetings between these two sides has seen BTTS * Each of the last 3 meetings at Anfield has finished in 1.1 draw * 5 of the last 7 meetings between these two sides have finished in draws. 4 of those were 1.1 draws * Chelsea are unbeaten in their last 6 trips to Anfield in the PL * 6 of the last 7 meetings at Anfield between these two sides saw BTTS * Liverpool have kept clean sheets in their last 4 home PL fixtures * Liverpool have scored 24 goals in their last 8 fixtures in all competitions * Chelsea have won their last 4 fixtures, scoring 10 goals in the process (in all competitions) * Chelsea have scored in 22 of their last 24 away PL fixtures * Liverpool have scored in 20 of their last 22 home PL fixtures Final Verdict Chelsea travel to Anfield on Saturday for a crucial live tea-time kick-off and the visitors will be confident following a fine week which has seen them record two consecutive 4.0 victories in the space of 4 days, first in the PL at WBA and then in midweek as they comfortably beat 10 man Quarabag in Azerbaijan. While that long journey to the far-east will certainly not have helped Chelsea's preparations, the manner of their victory did at least allow for a comfortable 90 minutes for the Blues and they should have enough in the tank to challenge a Liverpool side that somehow managed to throw away a 3.0 halftime lead at Sevilla. Liverpool had seemed to be improving defensively in recent weeks but that midweek collapse at Sevilla will have certainly dented defensive confidence and I can see an on-song Chelsea scoring and avoiding defeat in a match that has finished 1.1 in each of their last 3 Anfield battles. BTTS is short @8/13 but has usually occurred in these fixtures in the last 5 years and given Chelsea's record at Anfield, and the defensive shambles witnessed in Sevilla on Tuesday, that outcome does seem likely again here with Chelsea usually scoring on their travels and Liverpool scoring so many goals themselves in recent fixtures. _______________________________________________________________________________________________ Championship 15:00 Burton vs Sunderland - Prediction 1.2 Best Bets - BTTS @5/6, BTTS and over 2.5 goals scored @6/4 Key Facts * Burton have kept only 1 clean sheet in their last 24 home league fixtures * Burton have seen BTTS in 14 of their last 18 home league fixtures, including 6 of their last 8 * 11 of those 14 BTTS games also went over 2.5 goals * More recently, Burton have seen BTTS and over 2.5 goals scored in each of their last 3 home league fixtures. 13 goals were scored in those 3 games * Burton have conceded 2 goals or more in each of their last 5 home league fixtures with 17 goals leaked in total * Burton have scored in their last 5 league fixtures (4 also saw BTTS) having failed to score in their previous 5 * Sunderland have seen BTTS in 10 of their last 11 league fixtures * Sunderland have not won any of their last 15 league fixtures with their only win of the season coming at Norwich in August * Sunderland have seen BTTS in 5 of their last 6 away league fixtures and in 7 of their 9 so far this season * Sunderland have seen BTTS AND over 2.5 goals scored in 8 of their last 10 league fixtures * Sunderland have kept only 2 clean sheets in their last 28 away league fixtures (9 Championship, 19 PL) * Sunderland have kept just 1 clean sheet in their 21 fixtures in all competitions so far this season Final Verdict Chris Coleman will fancy his chances of recording a first win as Sunderland boss when he takes his new side to Burton on Saturday in a fixture that looks promising for goals with both sides struggling for clean sheets this season. Both teams are deep in trouble in the bottom three and while Sunderland will surely get some kind of lift from the arrival of Coleman , I don't expect him to suddenly turn this Sunderland side around, at least not with a clean sheet here against a Burton side that usually scores on their own patch. With neither side doing clean sheets, and both desperate for 3 points, we should see chances at both ends and I expect BTTS and over 2.5 goals scored with both sides featuring prominently in the goal markets this season. The 5/6 on offer for BTTS may well shrink in the coming 24 hours but that's my best tip here although I do also expect over 2.5 goals so the double at 6/4 could be worth a shout as well. _______________________________________________________________________________________________ 15:00 Fulham vs Millwall - Prediction 2.1 Best Bets - BTTS @8/13 Key Facts * Fulham have seen BTTS in 17 of their last 19 home league fixtures while they kept 0 clean sheets in those 19 games * Indeed, Fulham have kept just 3 clean sheets in their last 32 home league fixtures * Fulham have kept only 2 clean sheets in their last 27 league fixtures * Fulham have seen BTTS in 11 of their 13 most recent league fixtures both home and away * Fulham have only won 1 of their last 11 home league fixtures * Fulham recorded a remarkable 5.4 win in their most recent league fixture at Sheffield United on Tuesday * Millwall have not won any of their last 17 away league fixtures * Millwall have seen BTTS and over 2.5 goals scored in their last 2 away league fixtures and in 3 of the last 6 * Millwall have failed to score in 6 of their last 9 away league fixtures Final Verdict BTTS has every chance when Fulham are involved and while Millwall are not scoring freely, they have scored in their last 2 away fixtures so they have to have a chance of scoring here against a side that kept their last home clean sheet in January and also managed to concede 4 at Sheffield United in their most recent league outing and yet still managed to win so you would fancy them to get another here against a struggling Millwall. Still, Fulham have won only 1 at home in their last 11 while Millwall did take 4 points from their last 2 meetings against their London rivals although neither of those games saw BTTS but Fulham rarely let anyone down in this market and I fancy they will edge to a 2.1 derby win here. _______________________________________________________________________________________________ 15:00 Wolves vs Bolton - Prediction 3.1 Best Bets - Wolves to score 2 or more @1/2, BTTS and over 2.5 goals @13/8 Key Facts * Wolves have scored 2 goals or more in each of their last 6 home league fixtures * Wolves scored 18 goals in those 6 matches * Wolves have scored 2 goals or more in 10 of their last 12 league fixtures * Wolves have won 7 of their last 8 league fixtures including each of the last 4 * Wolves have won 6 of their last 8 league fixtures by more than 1 goal including each of the last 4 * Bolton are unbeaten in their last 7 league games (2w,5d) having lost the previous 8! * Bolton have seen BTTS in 6 of their last 7 league fixtures * Bolton have failed to win any of their last 34 away league fixtures, losing 24 and drawing 10 * Wolves have won only 1 of their last 11 meetings with Bolton * Bolton managed a 2.2 draw in their last trip to Molineux while they have lost only 1 of their last 5 at Wolves * 4 of the last 6 meetings between these two sides have seen BTTS and over 2.5 goals scored * 5 of the last 6 meetings between these two sides at Molineux have seen BTTS and over 2.5 goals scored Final Verdict On-song, Wolves are as short as 3/10 to claim the 3 points so the value definitely lies in backing the hosts to score 2 or more @!/2, a feat they have managed in all of their home fixtures so far this season and in 10 of their last 12 in the league. Bolton though have improved significantly in recent weeks, going seven unbeaten and while they will surely struggle to get a result against the league leaders, they do have a great record against Wolves and they can score at big odds to bring up the BTTS and over 2.5 goals pick @13/8 odds. Best Bets (in order of confidence) Liverpool vs Chelsea - BTTS @8/13 Wolves to score 2 or more @1/2 Burton vs Sunderland - BTTS @5/6 Fulham vs Millwall - BTTS @8/13 Burton vs Sunderland - BTTS and over 2.5 goals @6/4 Wolves vs Burton - BTTS and over 2.5 goals @13/8 Comments are closed.
