It's another big weekend but especially on Saturday and I've got 6 games covered from the PL in England as well as the Bundesliga in Germany. I've gone for a variety of different selections today and I may add one or two others if I have time to study the Serie A form as we have 10 games from Italy to consider as well with the Italians keeping the Easter Sunday holy and not playing any football. Nice for them but not so nice for @bobreaksbookies who doesn't enjoy a card as big as this. Too much choice and all that. So here are the previews and best bets for Saturday Happy Good Friday etc #BOlieve 15:00 Crystal Palace vs Leicester - Prediction - 2.0
Best Bets - Palace to win @4/5 Bet Confidence - 3 Stars Key Facts * Palace have won their last 3 home league fixtures with clean sheets kept in all 3 games. Palace had only won 4 of their previous 22 at home. * Palace have now won 5 of their last 6 league fixtures having only won 2 of their previous 19! * Leicester have lost 7 of their last 10 away league fixtures including 4 of the last 5 * Indeed, Leicester have had an appalling season on the road in the PL with 11 losses from 15 fixtures and only 1 win coming at West Ham in their 2nd most recent away fixtures Final Verdict Palace have to be favourites to claim the spoils here against a Leicester side that gave absolutely everything in their narrow 1.0 loss at Atletico Madrid on Wednesday evening and with the 2nd leg to come on Tuesday, the Foxes will surely rotate their team here with fatigue bound to play a factor in manager Craig Shakespeare's team selection here. The Foxes will feel their league status is almost secure and with 1.0 loss at Atletico giving them hope that their remarkable Champions League run might not be over yet, I expect one or both eyes to be firmly on Tuesday night and Palace should the far hungrier and energized side with a full week of preparation under their own belts. Had this fixture taken place in March, goals would have been the selection here but with Palace keeping 3 clean sheets in their last 3 at home, I can't pick BTTS, especially with the visitors likely to ring the changes. Palace know a win here will actually lift them above the Foxes in the table and I expect them to claim the points here against a distracted and fatigued Leicester side who will surely be dreaming of the biggest match in their clubs history to come on Tuesday. _______________________________________________________________________________________ 15:00 Sunderland vs West Ham - Prediction - 0.2 Best Bets - West Ham to win @13/10, West Ham to win to nil @10/3, West Ham -1 @3/1 Bet Confidence - 1.5 stars, 1 star, 1 star, 1 star Key Facts * Sunderland have failed to score in 9 of their last 10 (TEN) PL fixtures * Sunderland have lost 6 of their last 7 league fixtures. Sunderland lost by more than 1 goal in 5 of those 6 defeats * Sunderland are now 10 points adrift of safety with just 7 fixtures remaining * Despite their own poor form, West Ham have at least managed to win 3 of their last 8 away league fixtures *West Ham are unbeaten in their last 7 meetings with Sunderland, winning 3 of the last 4 Final Verdict Sunderland are absolutely rotten and while West Ham are in pretty poor form themselves, they are still a far superior team to David "slapper" Moyes bunch of not so merry men and I expect them to add to the Scotsman's misery with another defeat quite a possibly, even at home to an ordinary West Ham. No goals in 9 of their last 10 league fixtures tells it's own story and West Ham are surely too big @13/10 to claim the 3 points here against a home side that seem doomed to finally make the drop down to the Championship this season after so many previous narrow escapes. My 3 other selections are all a bit more speculative and for bigger prices and might be used for some of my small stake accas but it certainly wouldn't surprise me to see the visitors emerge with a comfortable away win here with a clean sheet possible as well against a toothless and almost certainly relegated side. _______________________________________________________________________________________ 15:00 Everton vs Burnley - Prediction 3.1 Best Bets - Everton to score 2 or more @4/7 Bet Confidence - 4 Stars Key Facts * Everton have scored 2 goals or more in each of their last 7 home league fixtures. Everton also won all 7 fixtures scoring a huge 26 goals in the process while also keeping 5 clean sheets * Indeed, Everton actually scored 3 goals or more in 6 of those 7 wins * Everton are now level with 6th placed Arsenal on 54 points, albeit having played 2 games more. * Burnley have conceded 2 goals or more in 8 of their last 12 PL away fixtures * Burnley have failed to win ANY of their away matches this season in the PL so far, losing 12 and drawing 4 * Burnley have lost 6 of their last 9 away league fixtures with BTTS also occurring in all 6 defeats Final Verdict Everton should be too strong for a Burnley side that really struggle on the road with no wins yet for Sean Dyche's men on their travels. Indeed with Everton in such rampant form at home, it's hard to envisage anything other than a home win here. Still, Burnley rarely roll-over and I don't expect a heavy defeat but Everton should be able to score 2 or more @4/7 while I wouldn't rule out a goal for the away side with Burnley scoring in all 6 of their last 6 away league defeats. _______________________________________________________________________________________ 17:30 Southampton vs Manchester City - Prediction 1.2 Best Bets - BTTS and over 2.5 goals @20/21, Man City to win and BTTS @9/4 Bet confidence - 1.5 stars, 1 star Key Facts * Man City have kept only 4 clean sheets in their last 12 away PL fixtures * Saints have seen BTTS and over 2.5 goals scored in 4 of their last 6 home PL fixtures * Saints have scored in 21 of their last 24 home league fixtures * Saints have lost only 1 of their last 6 in the PL * City have scored 2 goals or more in 9 of their last 12 away league fixtures * 9 of the last 11 meetings between these two sides have seen BTTS * Southampton won 4.2 in last season's reverse fixtures Final Verdict The stats don't make this an overwhelming pick but City rarely get an easy game on the South Coast and while I expect the visitors to claim the points, Saints do usually manage to score at home having done so in 21 of their last 24. the on-form Manolo Gabbiadini is passed fit, I will be confident taking BTTS @8/13 with this one having every chance of going over 2.5 goals as well with City scoring 2 or more in 9 of their last 12 away league fixtures _______________________________________________________________________________________ 15:15 Sporting Gijon vs Real Madrid - Prediction - 1.3 Best Bets - BTTS and over 2.5 goals @5/6, Real to win and BTTS @13/8 Bet Confidence - BTTS and over 2.5 goals - 2.5 stars, Real to win and BTTS - 2 Stars Key Facts * Sporting have seen BTTS in 10 of their last 12 home league fixtures. 8 of those 10 BTTS matches also went over 2.5 goals * Sporting have scored in 15 of their last 18 home league fixtures * Sporting have lost 7 of their last 10 home league fixtures. 5 of those 7 defeats also saw BTTS * Real Madrid have seen BTTS and over 2.5 goals scored in each of their last 11 fixtures in all competitions * Real won 7 of those 11 fixtures including each of their last 6, most recently a fine 2.1 win at Bayern on Wednesday night * Real have kept only 2 clean sheets in their last 21 away fixtures in all competitions and only 1 in their last 12 away league fixtures * Both of these two sides meetings in 2016 saw Real win with BTTS (5.1 and 2.1) Final Verdict Goals seem pretty likely here with Real facing a huge week in their season with a 2nd leg against Bayern to come on Tuesday followed by the derby with Barcelona and they may have to fight, as they usually have to, in order to claim the 3 points here at a relegation threatened Sporting. The hosts have not been in particularly great goal-scoring form but they did manage to score against Real in their last 2 meetings (both at the Bernabeu) and I expect them to do so again here with Real seldom doing clean sheets in away fixtures with their last one in La Liga coming back in November. BTTS and overs seems the most likely outcome here with Real likely to make some changes in order to rotate the squad ahead of those huge matches upcoming but with the league not yet in the bag, Real can't afford any slip ups and despite some defensive frailties, they should again emerge victorious to claim a 7th successive away win ______________________________________________________________________________________ 14:30 Augsburg vs FC Cologne - Prediction - 2.2 Best Bets - BTTS @19/20 Bet Confidence - 1.5 stars Key Facts * Augsburg have seen BTTS in each of their last 5 home league fixtures. 4 of those games also went over 2.5 goals * A total of 19 goals were scored in those 5 fixtures * Augsburg have kept only 2 clean sheets in their last 11 home league fixtures * Koln have seen BTTS and over 2.5 goals scored in each of their last 5 away league fixtures * A total of 21 goals were scored in those 5 fixtures * Koln have kept only 1 clean sheet in their last 13 away league fixtures Final Verdict BTTS seems over priced @19/20 with both of these sides scoring and conceding plenty in their last 5 matches. Neither side are in great form and recent meetings between the two sides don't suggest a goalfest with 3 of the last 4 finishing 0.0 but I will take a chance on BTTS here with neither side particularly keen on clean sheets lately and both still fighting for their own respective acheivements in the league. Indeed, Koln are still fighting to finish in the top 6 while the hosts face a relegation battle in the coming fixtures so we can expect both sides to look to win here and that should result in an open contest that may well produce BTTS at a price I like.
