7 games to look at kicking off at 9.05 pm CET tonight with Feyenoord against Roma looking the pick of the bunch. There will be a hostile atmosphere following last weeks trouble in Rome and security has been ramped up for a tie in Rotterdam between two of European football's most headheaded supports while I expect an entertaining tie in Spain between two of the classic names in European football with Torino visiting Atheltic Bilbao. So here below, is my preview for the later kick-offs. First leg scores in brackets
Ath Bilbao v Torino (2,2) - Prediction 1.1 - Best Bet - BTTS @10/11 I successfully tipped this up as a draw and BTTS last week in the first leg and fancy some more of the same tonight with the tie still finely poised even if Athletic will consider themselves favourites having bagged the 2 away goals. Torino were disappointed in failing to win at home and now need to score at least once to progress and while I am not sure of their progression here I think they will manage to score again and a 1.1 draw would not be a big surprise to me. Bilbao have not been especially strong at their new home this season and this one has the makings of another closely fought game. I will back the draw on a low stakes line and consider this as a possible BTTS. Club Brugge v Aalborg (3.1) - Prediction 2.0 - Best Bet - Avoid Not much interest here for me with Brugge expected to wrap this tie up without much fuss. No bet for Bo here. Everton v Young Boys (4.1) - Prediction 3.1- Best Bet - Avoid This is another tie that looks all wrapped up and for that reason I will avoid it. Everton have been so inconsistent this season and why I backed them at the weekend, only mrfixit of the DR can answer. In any case, I don't like betting on dead rubbers and this one looks to be just that. Everton to win but no bet for Bo. Feyenoord v Roma (1.1) - Prediction 2.1 - Best Bet - Feyenoord to qualify - 10/11 I really fancy the Dutch side to get the job done tonight in what is sure to be a hostile and intimidating atmosphere for the visitors following some disgraceful scenes in Rome last week. Roma have not been on top of their game in Italy winning only 1 in 6 and with Feyenoord possesing such a fine home record (11 wins from 12) I believe they can do enough to knock out the Italian giants. BTTS is also possible at 8/11 but I think the odds on Feyenoord to qualify are tempting at 10/11. Napoli v Trabzonspor (4.0) - Prediction - 2.0 - Best Bet - Avoid See my Everton preview. Olympiakos v Dnipro (0.2) - Prediction 1.0 - Best Bet - Avoid The Greeks have it all to do if they are to go any further in this years competition and come into this one having lost the local derby with Panathanikos at the weekend. Strong at home, they should push the Ukranians all the way but I expect the visitors to just about hold on to their first leg advantage. However, given the nature of the tie, I prefer to avoid this one. Sporting v Wolfsburg (0.2) - Prediction 1.2 - Best Bet - Wolfsburg to win at 13/8 and BTTS - 4/7 I backed the Germans last week to great effect and they should have more than enough to knock out their Portuguese opponents here with the hosts needing a major turnaround to have any chance of progression. Wolfsburg though are really impressive at the moment and in Bas Dost they have a man who simply will not stop scoring goals. I fancy BTTS here as Sporting will give it everything you would imagine but the away price on Wolfsburg to win at 13/8 is tempting. Bo's Best Bets (late kick-offs) Bilbao v Torino - BTTS @10/11 Feyenoord to qualify @ 10/11 Sporting v Wolfsburg - BTTS @4/7 Wolfsburg to beat Sporting - 13/8 Comments are closed.
