And here is the 2nd part of the Championship preview with a few more of my best bets in this one. I am particularly keen on my Derby bet against a poor Fulham side while there could be goals at Reading. Fulham v Derby - Prediction - 1.2 - Best Bet - Derby to score 2 or more goals @5/6 - Over 2.5 match goals @ 4/5
Derby travel to Fulham for the 2nd time this season having spanked the cottagers 5.2 in the league cup earlier in campaign. Derby have scored 2 or more goals in 9 of their 16 away games this season and in each of their last 7 games (home or away) while Fulham, have shipped at least 2 goals in 3 of their last 5 home games and 5 of their last 9 and given that their defensive issues show little sign of abating, I expect Derby to continue the trend on Saturday. However, the away side can be vulnerable at the back and for that reason, I also like the 8/11 on offer for BTTS but it is the 2 plus goals market that I like for this one with Fulham so out of form with no wins in 6, I cannot see Derby failing to hurt them on Saturday so I will be on them to score 2 or more at decent odds of 5/6. I do expect Fulham to score so the 4/5 on offer for over 2.5 goals looks to be a good value one here and I expect both selections to find there way into my best bets. If you prefer the straight up win, it is 10/11 for Derby but I feel they will hit the goal trail on Saturday and with so many attacking options, I expect them to bring home the points as well. Leeds v Watford - Prediction - 2.2 - Best Bet - No Bet Leeds had been in excellent form until they suffered a midweek setback at Brighton having won 4 of their previous 5 and cost me a fair bit of cash with their inability to either score or win while Watford have been scoring regularly and continue to threaten at the top of the table with 4 wins from their last 6 as well. This is something of a clash of styles between 1 side who are frequently involved in low scoring games (Leeds) and another in Watford who are regularly involved in games that go over 2.5 goals. While I do believe that BTTS is possible here, the stats do not really back it up to a level that I am comfortable with and so it could well be a game to avoid and given that both are performing to a similar level of late (4 wins from 6 each with 2 losses) I think this one is too hard to make any solid predictions on. Just leave it eh? Reading v Nottm Forest - Prediction - 1.2 - Best Bet - Forest to win @ 12/5 or BTTS @8/11 Very similar to the game above in that we have 1 defensively stronger team in Reading against a Forest side that are freescoring and playing without pressure and look to be somewhat transformed since ditching "Psycho" Stuart Pearce and going with Scot, Dougie Freedman. They have started to play some good football, most notably beating Bournemouth in midweek and are scoring and conceding at a rate that BO loves when it comes to BTTS. Unfortunately however, Reading are not one of those teams but I think the BTTS could come in here @ 8/11 Reading have lost their last 2 at home and I think a small stakes bet on Forest to win here is worth a shout given their current form. Rotherham v Millwall - Prediction - 1.0 - Best Bet - Under 2.5 goals at 2/3 Rotherham have been in good form at home and while you might expect them to beat a hapless Millwall here, it should be noted that the Lions have won 3 of their last 6 on the road and seem to perform much better away from home than they do in London at The Den. Rotherham have been getting some fine results at home in recent weeks and should possibly edge this one to claim the 3 points but I would hardly be overly optimistic. Millwall love the scoreline of 1.0, with 5 of their last 6 matches finishing with that scoreline and it could be on the cards again this weekend. Sheff Wed v Middlesbrough - Preciction - 1.1 - Best Bet - Draw @ 12/5 Sheffield Wednesday have drawn 8 out of 16 home games this season including their last 3, while 'Boro have drawn 3 of their last 5 on the road and so for those obvious reasons, the draw at 12/5 is the best bet for me. Undoubtedly 'Boro are a strong team under Aitor Karanka but Shef Wed have been so generous with the draws this season with a 50% strike rate at home that I simply cannot ignore them. They have won it for me a few times this season with their ability to draw 0.0 and while are 'Boro are favourites, they might need to settle for a point.
