It was a mixed bag of a weekend with some winners, some shockers, some super predictions and some narrow misses. Overall we suffered a small hit on my total points total which I will display at the end of this post. On Saturday, it was a real disappointment that free scoring Norwich could not score at home to Watford having done so in 14 of their previous 16 home matches, and having scored 13 goals in their previous 3 (admittedly against weaker opponents). This failure cost me my "Deadly Double" while Bournemouth's failure to score one more also cost me a fine 6/1 "tasty treble" although I did land my main bet of the day, for Arsenal to win at Palace. I was also really disappointed to have missed out on some cash in Germany having not only correctly predicted 3 out of 4 draws, but also the correct scores! I pretty much nailed Germany but it is not usually a league I put my focus in on Saturdays. Let's have a quick look at my 4 main bets for Saturday. Bo's "Sexy Single" Total Staked - 3.5 Points Potential Returns = 6.41 Points Arsenal to beat Crystal Palace - 5/6 - WINNER Bo's "Deadly Double" Total Staked - 2.5 Points Potential Returns - 6.68 Points Watford v Norwich - BTTS at 4/6 - LOST, FINAL SCORE 0.3 Nottingham Forest v Bolton - BTTS at 8/13 WINNER Bo's "Dangerous/dodgy Double" Total Staked - 0.6 Points Potential Returns - 4.7 Points Aston Villa to beat Stoke - 17/10 - LOST West Brom to beat Sunderland - 19/10 - LOST Bo's "Tasty Treble" Total Staked - 0.7 Points Potential Returns - 4.66 Points Derby to beat Sheffield Wednesday - 4/6 WINNER Arsenal to score 2 or more goals v Palace - Evens - WINNER Bournemouth to score 2 or more goals v Brenford - Evens - LOST I also lost 1.1 points on my ambitious accas which perhaps is too much to lose on silly bets. Total points placed for Saturday - 8.4 Total points won - 6.41 and here are Sunday's results.... Bo's Sexy Single Total Stake - 1.5 Points Potential Returns 4.8 Points Southamton v Liverpool - draw at 11/5 - LOST Bo's Deadly Double Total Stake - 1.5 Point Potential Returns - 5.1 Lazio v Palermo - BTTS - 10/11 - WINNER Everton to beat Leicester - 4/5 - LOST (THANKS MRFIXIT) Bo's Deadly Double Total Stake 1.5 Points Potential Returns - 4.35 Points Twente v Vitesse - BTTS - 8/13 - WINNER Wolfsburg -1 to beat Hertha - 8/11 - LOST Bo's Anytime goalscorer double Total Stake - 1.2 Points Potential Returns - 4 Points Harry Kane (Tottenham) 10/11 - WINNER Bas Dost (Wolfsburg) 5/6 - WINNER Bo's Dour Draws Total Stake - 0.3 Points Potential Returns 3.36 Points Twente v Vitesse - LOST Empoli v Chievo - LOST Total points staked - 6 Total Points Returns - 4 Overall weekend Points Staked - 16.9 Overall Points won - 10.4 NEW OVERALL BALANCE IS 95.7 POINTS (4.3 POINTS DOWN) A real frustrating day, despite landing an anytime goalscorer double with Wolfsburg and Everton both failing a goal short in each of my respective doubles with BTTS landing in Holland and Italy as tipped up. If either team would have scored today, or Watford yesterday, it would have been an ok weekend but I feel some lessons have been learned. Too many points were frittered away on ambitious bets and I will be focusing more intently on my sexy singles and deadly doubles to ensure maximum profit. So over the 2 days, 4 different bets denied by a mere single goal. I would have been looking at an extra 15 points on my total if all 4 had come in, or no loss at all if even just 1 of them did but this is a hard luck story I don't wish to repeat too often. But as they say, there is no use crying over spilled milk as it was a really tough weekend for punters with plenty of upsets with the likes of big favourites Chelsea and Barcelona failing to win at home. Tuesday's card is looking interesting and I will be back on the horse for this one. I am confident that we can still make this a good week, despite some painful and near misses this weekend.
