It wasn't a great day really but I made a correct decision to cover my BTTS double this afternoon. With the first part of the BTTS double coming in early, Port Vale then managed to break the deadlock in the 2nd game after 4 minutes. At this point I was able to take 5/4 odds of MK Dons NOT to score. So I put 25 on MK at 5/4 and as they failed to score, this cost me my Tasty Treble but I got back 55 of my total 75 staked (50 on my initial bet and 25 on the cover bet)
I will be writing a page shortly to explain cover betting in more detail but for me it is a vital way of ensuring profit or limiting losses. Had MK Failed to score, I would have been waiting on Atletico to bring home the bacon but as they failed to do so, I got most of my stake back. If they had score, we would effectively have had 75 going on to Ateltico to see off Elche later this evening. Ideally, when covering, you should only be waiting on the outcome of just 1 match but I will explain more of this in my Cover Bet post later. Additionally, as I am on such a poor run with my Daily Double and Tasty Treble challenge, I have decided to include the results of my Acca's (simply because it's the only field I am in profit!) and will include this in my results below. I'm not sure why I did not include these initally, possibly because I did not imagine we would win too many of them but having scopped 2 11/1 winners so far, it would be crazy not to include them in my overall profit and loss. It has been a very poor week but with cover betting, we have restricted our losses today to just 30 euros. Here are my results so far: Bo's Daily Double Challenge - 1 out of 4 winners Total Staked - 400 Total Returned - 210 Bo's Tasty Treble Challenge - 1 out of 6.5 winners (Target is 4 out of 14) Total Staked - 420 Total Returned - 285 Bo's Amazing Acca Challenge 2 out of 7 winners Total Staked - 35 euros Total Returned - 124 euros Overall Stake 855 Overall Returns 620 It's been a tough week but with a big weekend ahead, I am optimistic with a whole host of appealing fixtures, in particularly tomorrow with German, Italian and Premiership action as well as some more intriguing Championship encounters. Let's remember that I came into this challenge 519 euros up on the bookies after my first 3 weeks and while this has been a poor week no question, we are still just under 300 euros in profit overall. But make no mistake, my form needs to turn around quickly or this challenge will be failed. Let us hope it is going to be a Good Friday for one and all with goals galore in our Easter selections although I never understood why it's called Good Friday...isn't this the day where a certain hero of the time (No not Steven Gerrard) was nailed down and sentenced to death ? (yes such a punishment for Luis Suarez would be more suitable). Indeed, it sounds like something of a rotten Friday if you ask me but I digress...the sun is shining (In Barcelona at least) so let's make today a genuinely Great Friday for both punters and religious types alike.
Bo's Tasty Treble - Bet number 6 in the Series Stake - 50 Euros Bristol City v Notts County BTTS - 4/7 Port Vale v Mk Dons - BTTS - 8/13 Atletico Madrid to beat Elche - 1/5 Treble Returns - 148 Euros Bo's Tasty Treble - Bet number 6.5 (half stake for this treble) in the Series Stake - 25 Euros Blackburn to score 2 or more goals v Yeovil - 4/7 Bournemouth v Sheff Wed BTTS 4/6 Atletico to beat Elche - 1/5 Treble Returns 75 Euros The Atletico game kicks off at 1930bst so hopefully we will be waiting on this game to bring up both of my trebles. In such an event, it is important to look to cover your bet, especially if Atletico take the lead. Bo's Amazing Acca - Bet number 6 in the Series Stake - 5 euros Bournemouth to beat Shef Wed - 3/4 Blackburn BTTS V Yeovil - 4/6 Burnley to beat Blackpool - 19/20 Wigan v Reading BTTS 4/5 Acca Pays at 10/1 Bo's Bonkers Bet Bournemouth to beat Sheffield Wednesday 3-1 - 12/1 After a dismal couple of days for the Bo Challenge, we return to action with a packed weekend of Easter football across the continent with today's action mostly coming from the English Championship and lower leagues while in Spain, Atletico Madrid will look to edge a step closer to a stunning title by seeing off lowly Elche at the Vincente Calderon.
My focus this weekend will of course be on the Saturday and Sunday action but for today's card I have a "Taaty Treble" and an "Amazing Acca" so hopefully we can find a little Easter luck and come Sunday we will are sure to be gorging on the Chocolate of our labour :) In the Championship, Blackburn play host to Yeovil in a game that is likely to see some goals. Blackburn have scored 2 or more goals in their last 7 outings in this division and with an unlikely play-off charge still in motion, I expect the pattern to continue today against a Yeovil side who have shipped 41 goals on the road this season, the worst tally in the league. Blackburn to score 2 or more goals is priced at 4/7 There are 7 games in the Championship today and I strongly fancy victories for Bournemouth, Burnley and Blackburn with Brighton also a possibility at Huddersfield. Indeed today could well be a day for team's beginning with the letter "B". and some of these selections will form part of my "Amazing Acca" In League 1 in England, we are looking for goals and should find them at Port Vale as they entertain MK Dons. The Dons have won each of their last 5 away games with BTTS and over 2.5 goals occurring in all 5 while Port Vale themselves have won their last 3 at home with 4 out of 6 resulting in BTTS and I am optimistic the pattern will continue today. In Spain, Atletico are the story of the year, if not the decade with their uncompromising brand of intense, high pressure football reaping all the rewards as they proudly sit top of La Liga with 4 games to go. I simply cannot see the bandwagon coming off it's rails this evening and while they are short at 1/5, when you consider that Barcelona are frequently 1/20 to win at home, you can see that there is still some value to be had in adding Atletico to my tasty treble. Elche are no mugs and it might well only be 1 or 2 goals in it, but I fully expect Simeone's men to edge 1 step closer to the holy grail and take the 3 points. It's not an easy card today so I won't be going crazy so let's hope my "Tasty Treble" can get us back on course. My final bets to follow shortly. As you are aware, it was a horrible night for Bo and for Man City and Everton and coupled with my migraine, I was not in the best of spirits to report my failures. It was a sad night for my Premier League selections, as the two home bankers played like something rhyming much like bankers. It was a sorry state of affairs but as ever the classico in Spain delivered with BTTS and over 2.5 goals coming in with that stunning Gareth Bale goal to seal a deserved Real victory.
My results so far are making me consider a possible name change of the site to "BookiesBreakBo". However, chin up, onwards and upwards, this challenge can be revived over the weekend with a whole host of action. Here are my rather sad results thus far. Bo's Daily Double Challenge - 1 out of 4 winners Total Staked - 400 Total Returned - 210 Bo's Tasty Treble Challenge - 1 out of 5 winners Total Staked - 320 (including my cover bet on Milan) Total Returned - 230 Overall Stake 720 Overall Returns 440 It's time to resume The Bo Challenge and I will return to my "Daily Double" series, and I also have a "Tasty Treble" and an "Amazing Acca" to round off the night.

Barcelona have taken a mighty hit this year, both on and off the park with scandals a plenty and the complete loss of their form on the pitch. The club has lunged from one controversy to the next, the latest being their 18month transfer ban and having been knocked out of Europe and beaten by lowly Granada at the weekend, things are going from bad to worse for the Catalans. Of course it was only 2 weeks ago that they won a spectacular encounter in the Bernabeu by 4 goals to 3 and Real are significantly weakened by the abesence of Cristiano Ronaldo for this tie, so it is more than likely going to be another close encounter with Gareth Bale expected to step up to the plate in the absence of the Balon D'or winner. Predicting a winner is less than certain, but there is however, 1 certainty in life and indeed, luckily for us, in this match, and that is that both teams always score in this fixture. In the last 12 it has happened and of course now that I have said that...well, at 4/9 odds it looks nailed on and will form the first part of my "Daily Double". This match almost always lives up to it's billing and I expect a closely fought, end to end battle with over 3.5 goals likely (5/4) with extra time a real possibility. However, picking a winner seems too close to call. Had Ronaldo been fit, I would be all over Madrid for this one but with their talisman missing, I cannot be certain they will take the first silverware of the season. In the EPL as the Americans like to call it, high flying Everton entertain Crystal Palace while Man City, smarting after their weekend loss at Liverpool, take on lowly Sunderland who are almost certain to be relegated. I fully expect two home wins for two teams chasing big prizes at the top end of table, however Everton will have to work harder of the two sides to overcome a resolute and revitalised Crystal Palace who look sure to avoid relegation having at one point been considered certainties for the drop. Palace though are not great on the road and Everton should be able to win this one fairly comfortably. Everton are 4/11 to win. Sunderland on the other hand appear to have lost all hope and I strongly fancy Man City to win this one on the handicap of -1 at 1/2 odds. Not a lot of games to choose from but I am confident on a number of different selections for these matches and I will post them later in the day. Early predictions Everton 2 v 0 Crystal Palace Man City 3 v 0 Sunderland Real Madrid 2 v 2 Barcelona Bets to follow.... It was a disappointing night and with hindsight, I would have been better to save my money for tomorrow's action however, my "Tasty Treble" was effectively a freebie as I had covered my stake on my previous loser on Sunday night in Milan when the hosts had 70 minutes to score 1 more goal but failed to do so.
I put 20 euros on Milan to score no more goals after their 21st minute opener (I was waiting on 1 more goal to seal the Tasty Treble) and as they failed to do so, this paid it out at 65 euros. This is a vital feature to take advantage of when your matches kick off at different times and you are waiting on just one more game. The Opportunity to cover my stake had to be taken as otherwise it could have been a worse day. So...what that means is, we are still where we were. Here are my results so far. Bo's Daily Double Challenge - 1 out of 3 winners Total Staked - 300 Total Returned - 210 Bo's Tasty Treble Challenge - 1 out of 4 winners Total Staked - 270 (including my cover bet on Milan) Total Returned - 230 Overall Stake 570 Overall Returns 440 So far, it's not been the start I had hoped for however I have big confidence in my hopes for tomorrow with a return to my "Daily Double" after a two day absence. Indeed our fortunes can quickly get back on track with our next selections and I will also be posting my "Tasty Treble" and my "Amazing Acca" Another quiet night across Europe so there will be NO "Daily Double" however there is a "Tasty Treble and another "Bonkers Bet" after the success of my Sunday selection in Liverpool beating Man City 3.2
First to Germany and let's hope Mr Klopp (pictured above) will have a little less to get angry about as Dortmund play host to Wolfsburg in the German Cup Semi-Final. Dortmund come into this game having beaten arguably the two best teams in Europe, Real Madrid 2.0 last week and Bayern 3.0 in Munich at the weekend and will be brim full of confidence but with this being their 3rd game in less than a week, it is possible that Wolfsburg who have scored in every away game since early October will provide a stern opposition. BTTS is 8/15 while a Dormund win combined with BTTS is 13/10. My expectation is a high scoring, action packed semi final with Dortmund making it to the final but not without a worry or two from the visitors. Back Marco Reus to find the net at 1/1 odds as the young winger is the hottest player in Germany at the moment. In Belgium, Anderlect should see of Zulte at 8/15 odds having won their last 9 at home in the league, with 7 clean sheets and scoring 2 or more in 7 of the 9 matches as well. Anderlecht to score 2 or more is priced at 4/7. I have decided to leave out the match in London with Arsenal so badly out of form. It is one of those games where I could easily see it finishing 0.0 and when that is possible, I think it is best left avoided. If you are looking for a bet, I would take West Ham plus 2 at 4/6 odds but this really is a match that doesn't carry much value. The Bo Challenge "Tasty Treble" - Bet 5 in the series (1 out of 4 so far) Target is 5 out of 14 Stake - 45 Euros (normally 50 but reduced to account for slightly bigger odds on tonight's selection) Dortmund to beat Wolfsburg and BTTS 13/10 Anderlect to beat Zulte 8/15 Double Returns 158 Euros Bo's Bonkers Bet - Dortmund 3 v 2 Wolfsburg pays at 16/1 Well my "Amazing Acca" was amazingly s***e on Monday but I did get the Readlng v Leicester match spot-on but other than that if was a less than amazing acca as there were easy wins for Juventus and Bilbao while my BTTS in Holland fell short as well. A bullet dodged in that I avoided the Bo Challenge for today.
Tuesday's card does not look significantly better and I have yet to make a final decision on my selections but there are a few games for us to take a look at. Arsenal need the points at home to West Ham if they are to keep pace with Everton in the hunt for the 4th and final Champions League position and are priced at 4/9 to do just that. While on paper this looks a routine home win for Arsenal, and It's true that they will take heart from the fact they overcame Wigan at the weekend (albeit via penalties) to reach the FA Cup final, but with their recent hammerings in the league, and the fact it took 120 pain staking minutes for the Gunners to actually make it to the final, leads me to conclude this is certainly not going to be easy for Wenger and his fragile squad. Indeed their form has been so poor of late, and with an injury list lengthening, it is hard to make a case for them as genuine home bankers in this game. I expect West Ham to put up a strong fight tonight, and their recent away form is pretty decent too with only 2 defeats in 6. Jose Mourinho might do well to remind his old friend Wenger that Big Same is more than capable of "parking of the bus" as they did so effectively in their goalless draw at Stamford Bridge and tonight's encounter is likely to be much of the same and with Arsenal missing a whole host of key attacking performers, their ability to break down a compact defense is sure to be limited. I will look to assess the team news later today before posting a selection for this match but at the moment I don't feel too confident in Arsenal and can see a low scoring drab encounter but possibly with the leg weary Gunners edging home. . In Germany, Borussia Dortmund take on Wolfsburg in the German Cup Semi Final and this is sure to be a hotly contested cup tie. Over 2.5 goals is the obvious bet at 2/5 odds and BTTS is 4/7. I like the look of both. Meanwhile in Belgium, they are currently at the play-off stage in their season in what is a highly convoluted league set up. as title chasing Anderlecht entertain Zulte and are 8/15 to win and I like this price a lot. Anderlecht are tremendous at home, winning their last 9 with clean sheets in 7 while Zulte, were only able to win 3 away games from 15 in the league stage of the season. All signs point to a home win here. There are 1 or 2 other matches to consider but all in all it is not the best set of fixtures and I will continue to study before posting final selections later in the day. No. I'm not up for the Challenge...
Really? Has Bo lost his bottle? Well...not really It's just a quiet day across Europe and yesterday was a slightly painful day as well. With it being such a quiet day, no "Daily Double" or "Tasty Treble" will be offered today, but i do have some picks I like but without enough confidence to put big stakes on so there will be an "Amazing Acca" of which we have won 2 out of 4 so far. My "Daily Double" and "Tasty Treble" Challenge will resume tomorrow. In The Championship in England, promoted Leicester travel to Reading in a live TV fixture that could well produce some goals. Reading remain right in the hunt for a play-off position but their home form has been dire of late, recording 0 wins from their last 6 and even though Leicester have taken their foot off the gas with promotion assured, it would be impossible to side with a side so badly out of form at home. However, I expect Reading to score tonight and earn a point to take advantage of opponents who with their eyes off the ball, may well suffer a downturn in form, given their unassailable advantage at the top of the table (as reflected in their 4.1 loss at the weekend) and I will be backing BTTS at 8/13. In Italy, Juventus can edge a step closer to the title with a victory at Udinese but face a home side in good form, who are not easy to breakdown and are quite capable of giving the champions elect a tough match. Udinese are unbeaten in their last 5 in Udine, including 4 victories while Juventus have looked a little leg weary in recent weeks with their involvement in the Europa League adding to their distractions, and I am predicting a low scoring draw for this game. In beautiful Baque country, Athletic Bilbao seeking 4th position and a Champions League qualification berth take on Malaga in a true North v South battle in La Liga. Bilbao are heavily fancied at 4/11 to pick up the win but have only won 2 of their last 6 at home while Malaga have won their last 3 on the road. I am not confident enough to back the visitors to win but I think their handicap price of 4/6 with a 2 goal head-start is good value. I expect a draw or a narrow 1 goal home victory and either result would be sufficient to pay out. Finally, we turn to the Dutch Second Division where goals are almost always guaranteed and I like the looks of the fixture there tonight which sees Jong Twente take on Jong PSV. BTTS pays at 4/7 and you are just going to have to trust me on this one! Bo's Amazing Acca (small stakes only) Reading V Leicester, BTTS 8/13 Udinese v Juventus, Draw, 3/1 Jong Twente v Jong PSV, BTTS 4/7 Malaga (plus 2 goals) on the handicap to beat Bilbao, 4/6 Acca pays at 15/1 odds It was a remarkable day in the Bo Challenge with all of my main bets narrowly failing to win, including at Hoffenheim who had their last 17 successive games at home go over 2.5 goals. 2.0 at halftime and we seemed sure to get the victory. Sadly not but for the second day running I scored an 11/1 "AMAZING ACCA" and even more unlikely was my 20/1 "Bo's Bonkers Bet" with Liverpool seeing off Man City 3.2 in a thrilling Anfield encounter.
In the end we were waiting for Milan to score 2 to secure a tasty treble but my luck really was not in today. I was able to cover Milan not scoring again as they got there first goal inside 25 minutes, but I had a feeling my luck was against me and so it proved Let's recap the day's results BET 1) "BO'S DAILY DOUBLE" BET NUMBER 3/14 IN BO'S DAILY DOUBLE CHALLENGE STAKE 100 EUROS 4.6% OF BANKROLL Liverpool v Man City (KICKOFF 1.37PM), BTTS - 2/5 Winner Hoffenheim v Augsburg (KICKOFF 4.30PM) OVER 2.5 MATCH GOALS 4/7 Lost (Final score 2.0) DOUBLE RETURNS 210 EUROS - Lost BET 2) "BO'S TASTY TREBLE"- BET NUMBER 3/14 IN BO'S TASTY TREBLE CHALLENGE STAKE 50 EUROS 2.3% OF BANKROLL PSV V Feyennord (KICKOFF 3.40PM) BTTS 4-/9 final score 0.2 Lost Hoffenheim v Augsburg BTTS (KICKOFF 4.30PM) - 4/9 final score 0,2 lost Atletico Madrid to beat Getafe (6.00PM) - 4/9 final score 2.0 - won TREBLE RETURNS 150 EUROS - Lost BET 3) "BO'S TASTY TREBLE"- BET NUMBER 4/14 IN BO'S TASTY TREBLE CHALLENGE STAKE 50 EUROS 2.3% OF BANKROLL AC Milan to score 2 or more goals v Catania, (7.45pm) 4/9 final score 1.0 lost Liverpool v Man City - over 2.5 match goals - 4/9 3.2 winner AZ V NEC Breda (1.30PM) BTTS - 2/5 1.1 winner TREBLE RETURNS 145 EUROS lost (covered and returned stakes) "BO'S AMAZING ACCA 1" Liverpool to score 2 or more goals v Man City- 8/11 - winner, 3.2 Hoffenheim to score 2 or more goals v Augsburg - 5/6 winner, 2.0 RKC V PEC Zwolle (KICK OFF 1.30PM) BTTS - 4/7 winner, 1.1 Chelsea to beat Swansea, (KICKOFF 5.07PM) - 5/6 winner, 1.0 Milan to beat Catania (KICKOFF 7.45PM) - 1/3 winner, 1.0 ACCA PAYS AT 11/1 WINNER "BO'S AMAZING ACCA 2" Liverpool to beat Man City and BTTS - 12/5 WINNER Hoffenheim v Augsburg over 3.5 match goals - 5/4 LOST Utrecht v Heracles, KICK OFF (1.30PM), BTTS - 4/7 WINNER ACCA PAYS AT 10/1 LOST BO'S BONKETS BET LIVERPOOL 3 V 2 MAN CITY - 20/1 WINNER End of day 3 - Challenge update Bo's Daily Double - 1 out of 3 winners (target 8 from 14) Bo's Tasty Treble - 1 out of 4 winners (target 5 from 14) Bo's Amazing Accas - 2 out of 4 winners (target 2 from 14) TOTAL STAKED (not including amazing accas)- 500 TOTAL RETURNED 415 (not including amazing accas) My success so far has come from the amazing acca which we will be staking 5 euros on. A fix? HBO described it as a "horrible, bogus decision" The late, great, Manny Steward proclaimed himself "speechless" at the outcome. Bradley's split decision victory was indeed a sham and as I commented at the time, it was clearly set up to allow for a rematch down the line and here we are at that particular juncture. Money talks in boxing and with Bob Arum and his Top Rank stable only willing to assign fellow Top Rank promoted fighters for Manny to chew on, such rematches are fundamental to the success of their operation. However much has changed in the intervening months since Pacquiao's first "loss" in over 7 years. Following on from the Bradley fight was a 4th showdown with his Mexican foe, Juan Manuel Marquez but this time Pacquiao was beaten in some considerable style by a knockout blow that still sends shivers through the spine and no doubt caused some sleepless nights for Pacquiao and his trainer Freddie Roache up until their comeback victory over the limited Brandon "Bam Bam" Rios in Macau, China at the tail end of last year. Meanwhile Bradley, coming off the biggest win of his life was somewhat horribly and unfairly ridiculed and mocked in boxing circles for taking credit for a victory that clearly never happened. What needs to be remembered of course is that Bradley did not score the fight for himself, it was the corruption and or inteptitude of the judges that caused all the problems. Despite this, Bradley could not escape the negative attention and in his subsequent fight, with the idea in his head that he needed to do something spectacular to appease the boxing public, almost got said head taken off in going to war with the "Siberian Rocky", Ruslan Provodnikov. It was a gruelling but throughly exciting fight and earned Bradley some of the respect he appeared to have lost in his sham victory over Pacquiao. Having let go of his demons in the Provodnikov war, he resorted back to his boxing skills in his next fight, another Top Rank showdown with Juan Manuel Marquez. This time there was no dispute as Bradley boxed his way to a comprehensive and decisive points decision that noone could argue with. Now we are set for a rematch that while initially appearing redundant, has become an inevitability with the directions of both men's career taking them back into a necessary redemption match. For Bradley this is his chance to show that he really is the superior fighter and that the first fight was no fluke. For Manny, it's all or nothing. He knows he cannot afford another defeat and at 35, needs to look good in victory if he is to reemerge on the radar of the Money Man, Floyd Mayweather Jnr. While that is a fight I never expect to happen, an exciting victory for the Phillipino Typhoon would at least get everyone talking about the possibility of a showdown that seems destined never to materialise. Defeat for Manny would render such ambitions obsolete and the specter of retirement would loom even closer for a man who no matter the outcome of this fight, will go down as a true legend of the sport. My expectation for this fight is a close, hard fought 12 round decision. Pacquiao has not had a knock out for over 5 years and Bradley is by no means a big puncher and this looks certain to go the distance in what will I am sure be a hugely competitive and closely fought contest. While Manny is a clear favourite at 2/5 odds on, and speaking subjectively, is my favourite non British fighter since the days of Mike Tyson, I would not at all be surprised to see Bradley earn his stripes and win a clearer decision this time. Although with judges these days, it would hardly be a surprise to see it go in favour of Manny. Bradley is 11/4 to win on points while Manny is 11/10 to win by the same method. So get the coffee/whiskey at the ready and be prepared for a long night of waiting as this fight is scheduled for around 4am BST. I'm hoping for a great fight and a return to glory for the boxing slugger turned political icon, but such an outcome is by no means a formality and in Tim Bradley we have a man who has never been beaten. Such mental advantages could be the difference in this fight and as such I am tipping Tim Bradley to pull off another upset, although this time, I expect him to have earned it. What a day! 3 seperate winning bets including my "Amazing Acca" and a "Tasty Treble" as well as my "Daily Double". Only Borussia Monechengladbach let me down today. Quite a disappointment as they were held 1.1 by Stuttgart. One more goal and I would have got every single selection correct today. 10 out of 12 ain't bad though so let's take a closer look at my results in a thrilling day across Europe. Close but a good day of profit. Challenge so far... DAILY DOUBLES - 1 OUT OF 2 (Target is 8 out of 14) TASTY TREBLES 1 OUT OF 2 (Target is 5 out of 14) AMAZING ACCA'S - 1 OUT OF 3 (Target is 2 out of 14) It's a huge day across Europe with crucial matches aplenty and a lot to consider, Saturday is not actually my favourite day for betting as there is simply so many games to look at and study but I will attempt to do my best and hopefully land some winners.
My big play of the day is on Stoke. I just cannot understand why they are about even money (1/1) to beat a Newcastle team in absolutely shocking form. Stoke are in good form, are formidable at home and Newcastle are without several key players, seem to be completely devoid of motivation and could again end up on the hands of a spanking. I expect a comfortable Stoke win and would not discourage anyone from backing them to win on the handicap (-1) at 3/1 odds. In Germany as ever, we are looking for goals and should find some in Wolfsburg, Hannover and Monechengladbach, while Bayern against Dortmund is tough to call but sure to be interesting. Today i will post 2 of my "Bo's Daily Doubles" which will be 2 bets both attempting to "double" our money. I will also post 1 of my "Bo's Tasty Trebles" which will be 1 bet attempting to "treble" our money. And of course, I have 2 "Amazing Accas" for all of you looking for a super Saturday with a bit of luck. DAY 1) Bet 1 of 14 (Bo's Tasty Treble) STAKE = 50 EUROS (2.3% OF BANKROLL) Schalke to beat Eintracht Frankfurt and BTTS 2/1 - FINAL SCORE 2.0 LOST DAY 1) Bo's Amazing Acca Schalke to score 2 or more goals against E Frankfurt - Odds 4/7 - FINAL SCORE 2.0 WON Gronigen v NAC Breda, BTTS Odds 4/6 - FINAL SCORE 2.1 WON Cork to beat Sligo Rovers - Odds 6/4 FINAL SCORE 1.1 LOST Lokeren v Anderlecht, BTTS, Odds 4/6 FINAL SCORE 1.2 WON LOST Acca pays at 10/1 odds So a disappointing start to the campaign as Schalke kept a clean sheet in their home victory but let's remember that we will be doing 14 "Tasty Treble's" over the next 2 weeks and we only need 5 to win to keep us in profit. This was a decent bet and a touch unfortunate as Eintracht played well and could easily have snatched 1. My Amazing Acca was pretty close, falling only 1 goal short in Ireland and I will have another acca in my selections tomorrow. There was no "Daily Double" today so tomorrow there will be 2. This weekend will be hugely exciting across the continent and I hope it will be profitable. Selections to follow... It's Friday and there is not too much to choose from but we can still make an "Amazing Acca" for the day.
These Acca's will not be successful every time and if I get more than 1 out of the next 10,then we will be doing well so please do not have too much expectation, these are speculative bets which will certainly not win every time, but with odds of 10/1 or more, if we can have more than 1 winner from 10, we will be in profit. DAY 1) Bo's Amazing Acca Schalke to score 2 or more goals against E Frankfurt - Odds 4/7 Gronigen v NAC Breda, BTTS Odds 4/6 Cork to beat Sligo Rovers - Odds 6/4 Lokeren v Anderlecht, BTTS, Odds 4/6 Acca pays at 10/1 odds As I am well aware, a lot of you are looking for a bigger return on your stake and do not want to invest the time or money into a long term staking plan.
The challenges that I set are to make profit over a longer period using a large investment but for those of you who are simply looking for a bit of fun and maybe the chance to turn 5 Euros into 50, I will provide on a daily basis, "Bo's Amazing Acca" My "Amazing Acca" is an accumulator of predictions on different matches. The accumulative odds will be around 10 - 15/1 so the rewards for a 5 Euro stake would be around 50- 75 returned. I hope this will give those of you looking for something simpler a different option and will allow me to predict more outcomes, which of course I love to do :) Let's make this first weekend of Bo's Daily Double's , Tasty Trebles and Amazing Acca's a good one. The draw for the Champions League Semi-Finals was made this morning with Chelsea being paired with Barcelona slayers, Atletico Madrid while Champions Bayern Munich were paired with Real Madrid.
Believe it or not, I had a feeling this is how the draw would come out and Chelsea will be relieved to have avoided the supposed favourites Bayern and the powerhouse of Real Madrid. On paper it looks like the best draw for Chelsea...but is it ? I tipped Atletico to progress past Barcelona this week and as a result of their victory, the bookies have made the La Liga leaders slight favourites to edge past Chelsea at 4/5 to qualify. The Londoners are priced at 1/1. Indeed this will be a very close tie and at the moment is just too hard to predict but I have had a feeling for Atletico in recent weeks and I will most likely be backing them for qualification. They are currently top of La Liga with 5 matches to go and face the incredible prospect of a trip to the Nou Camp on the final day of the season in what will most likely be a title decider. Given that they just knocked Barca out of Europe, confidence is at an all time high and nothing is beyond Simeone's men this season. In the other tie, Bayern are 4/6 favourites to get past Real Madrid who are priced at 6/5 to qualify and this is sure to be a cracking semi final tie. The possibility remains of an all Madrid final which would surely make for an absolutely remarkable spectacle in Lisbon come this May and the odds on this eventuality are priced at 3/1. Bayern are favourites for the tournament at 6/4, with Real second favourites at 11/4, Atletico are 7/2 while Chelsea are considered the outsiders at 9/2. I believe both Chelsea and Atletico represent excellent value given that one of them is sure to be in the final and any one of these sides could easily win this trophy. I will stick my neck out and tip Atletico at 7/2 and the possibility of an all Madrid final seems to be written in the stars. Bo's Champions League Tips Atletico Madrid vrs Real Madrid final - 3/1 Atletico to win the tournament - 7/2 It's Friday and that means a limited supply of top quality action to consider but there is one game in Germany that has caught my eye.
Schalke entertain Eintrach Frankfurt in the live TV match in Germany and the home side will be looking to take 3 points from a Frankfurt side in decent form. Their 2 previous meetings have seen a 3.2 win for Schalke and a 3.3 draw and both teams to score looks a good bet but I fancy Schalke to win the game as well. Their home form is very good but Eintracht are in good form and should put up a good fight in what I expect to be an entertaining game. For more insight into this match, please see http://www.whoscored.com/Matches/724003/Preview So there will be just one bet today, Schalke to win and BTTS which pays at 2/1. DAY 1) Bet 1 of 14 (Bo's Tasty Treble) STAKE = 50 EUROS (2.3% OF BANKROLL) Schalke to beat Eintracht Frankfurt and BTTS 2/1 Friday April 11th - The Bo Challenge - Day 1
To recap on my earlier post, today marks the start of my new challenge but with not a lot to choose from, my options are limied, but there is 1 game that catches my eye in Germany which is Schalke at home to Eintracht Frankfurt. Firstly, let's have a look at my final total from my first 3 weeks of "Bo Breaks The Bookies" Initial Bankroll = 2000 Euros Final Bankroll = 2519 Euros Just over 25% profit over the period but as you know, my form has been up and down of late with little improvement on our early success so today I begin our new challenge...14 "Daily Doubles" and 14 "Tasty Trebles" over the next 2 weeks. So to join my challenge, you need to first set your bankroll. As you know, my current figure is 2519 Euros from my last challenge. I will be taking 2100 from this 2519 bankroll for my 2 week challenge, leaving me 419 Euros just in case I manage to lose every single bet! I will always be doing the same amount for my double and treble. 100 for the double and 50 for the treble. 100 Euros represents about 4.75% of my 2100 bankroll, and 50 Euros represents about 2.375% of my bankroll so please make the same percentage for your bankroll depending on how much you have. IE if you have 500 euros, your double would be for 23 Euros, and your treble would be 11.50. If you need further information on this complicated (not really) challenge, please contact me on twitter BIG CHANGE FOR BO
After much analysis and thought, and the completion of my 3rd week of breaking the bookies, I feel it is important to form a more solid and consistent structure of bets so from tomorrow onwards, there is going to be some changes. At the start of this challenge, we had 2000 Euros in our bankroll and after 3 weeks, we have reached 2519 which is certainly more than decent (25.95% profit) but in the last 2 weeks we have been somewhat stale, so I am going to begin a new challenge for the next two weeks (more or less) THE NEW CHALLENGE Each day we will be doing 2 BETS the first will be "Bo's Daily Double" which will consist of 1 or 2 short priced selections with combined odds of around even money. In other words, to double our stake. We will do this 14 times in the next 2 weeks, each time staking 100 euros. The second will be "Bo's Tasty Treble" which will consist of 2 or 3 selections with combined odds of around 2/1 odds. Similar to the daily double, but with the possibility of 2 or 3 selections and at slightly higher odds. Here we will be doing 14 of "Bo's Tasty Treble's" in the next 2 weeks, each time staking 50 euros. Over the course of the 14 -16 days, we will be staking 150 euros per day. On quiet day's like Thursday, Friday and Monday, it is possible I will only do a daily double or a tasty treble. On busier day's, there may well be two "daily doubles". But the principle remains the same, 14 daily doubles and 14 tasty trebles over the next fortnight. EXAMPLE DAY 1) BET 1) "Bo's Daily Double" Stake 100 Euros Liverpool to beat Southampton 1/2 Man City to beat Sunderland 1/3 Double Returns 200 Euros Bet 2) "Bo's Tasty Treble" Stake 50 Euros Everton to beat Newcastle 1/2 Chelsea to beat Cardiff 1/3 Liverpool to beat Southampton 1/2 Treble Returns 150 Euros Total Staked 150 Euros Total Possible Returns 350 STAKING PLAN Using our staking plan, we will be making the following bets over a 14 day period. "BO'S DAILY DOUBLE" 14 "Daily Doubles" at 100 Euros each on odds of 1/1 (even money) = 1400 Total Staked over 2 weeks. A strike rate of 7 out of 14 would break us even and anything above will mean significant profit. I expect a minimum of 8 out of 14 correct after 2 weeks, and with this strike rate, we would get 1600 Euros Returned. 9 for example would return 1800 and would generate a considerable profit. Anything above 8 out of 14 and we will be laughing. I believe that 8 is a more than obtainable target but the next 14 days will reveal all. They key will be a strike rate of above 51% which even someone tossing a coin can obtain! The second series of bets will be; "BO'S TASTY TREBLE" 14 "Tasty Trebles" at 50 Euros each on odds of 2/1 = 700 Total Staked Here, a minimum of 5 winners out of 14 bets would return 750 Euros which again, I believe can be obtained. Anything above 5 and we are looking at super profit. 6 winners for example would give us 900 euros return on our 700 investment. I hope this is not too confusing but I will keep it simple on a daily basis. 14 Days 2 Bets per day (Bo's Daily Double and Bo's Tasty Treble) Total staked per day - 100 on the "Daily Double", 50 on the "Tasty Treble" TOTAL STAKED OVER THE PERIOD WILL BE 2100 TOTAL ESTIMATED MINIMUM RETURNS WILL BE 2350 on the assumption we can get 8 from 14 and 5 from 14 (I believe we can at the very least) So, 4 selections out 0f 6 but only 10 euro profit. Disappointing performance from Basel and Lyon managing a goal in their defeat cost us a night of more profit. It's clear a new approach is needed if we are to move forward and make more profit and I will reveal my new plans in my next post. Stay tuned...

Our balance has gone up and down but remained around the 2500 mark for too long.
CURRENT BANKROLL = 2519 BET 1) STAKE = 2.25% OF INITIAL BANKROLL 45 EUROS Juventus to beat Lyon odds 1/3 Benfica to beat AZ Alkmaar odds 2/7 Valencia v Basel, over 1.5 match goals 2/11 Treble Returns 90 Euros BET 2) STAKE = 1% OF INITIAL BANKROLL 20 EUROS Valencia v Basel, BTTS, odds 4/5 Benfica to beat AZ Almaar, Benfica -1 goal odds 8/11 Double Returns 62 Euros BET 3) STAKE = 0.75% OF INITIAL BANKROLL 15 EUROS Juventus v Lyon, Under 2.5 goals, odds 9/10 Sevilla v Porto, BTTS, odds 4/6 Double Returns 48 Euros Total Staked for Night = 80 Euros Total Returned = ....??? Let's hope for solid home wins for Juventus and Benfica and spirited and exciting games in Spain. The dreaded Europa League returns tonight with 4 quarter final ties taking place across the continent.
In Turin, Juventus will look to kill off Lyon following their 1.0 win in France last week. Conte's men are in fine form heading into the business end of the season and should win tonight to complete the job on a Lyon side that are no longer the strong European outfit we once knew, although odds of 1/3 to win are a little short. Juventus to win with a clean sheet looks likely but the bet i most like the look of is under 2.5 goals which pays 9/10 and looks a great bet, even if it is not my favourite type of selection. I expect Juventus to win either by 1 or 2 to 0. |
