It is another huge weekend of action across the continent and looking at the fixture list and the amount of games on offer, i am going to have to be selective about which games I study with so much to choose from. There is some action tonight which I will take a quick look at but as ever my focus will be on the action tomorrow and Sunday. Let’s take a look at what we have in store for us tonight. It was a terrific night @bobreaksthebookies as 2 of my “Deadly Doubles” landed and of my suggested bets 7 out of 9 were correct which is pretty good going if do say so myself on a night when I made 6 POINTS of profit to get back on track.
The Europa League action is hotting up with some tasty looking ties taking place tonight and with 8 games to choose from I am optimistic we can find some winners before the weekend action but I will restrict myself to 3 or 4 of these games for my main bets.
The action starts at 1800 CET with Zenit hosting Torino before 3 more fixtures kicking off an hour later with the final 4 games to finish the day at 2105 CET and I am expecting some close games tonight and may consider some ambitious draw doubles and trebles. I am sure we will see at least 2 draws tonight and if I can pick the right ones, it will bring up some serious profit. Here are the shorter than usual previews for all the games tonight. The less said about last night the better as Real Madrid suffered a stunning 4.3 home reverse to Schalke and Porto smashed Basle 4.0 to leave my best bets battered, although fortunately I only staked a couple of points on a night where nothing went right for Bobreaksthebookies. No-one could have foreseen the outcome in Madrid but I was surprised and disappointed to see Basel humbled so easily by Porto. This is the first time in a while where I really was totally wrong about the outcome of a match. Perhaps I underestimated Porto who were utterly convincing in their victory. The Real performance was quite appalling but so too the farcical behaviour of their support who gave them the white hanky treatment at the final whistle. To see a team booed off the park with such derision having qualified for a quarter final boggles the mind and Cristiano looked distinctly unimpressed with the reaction of the fans. Here we have the current European champions , qualifying for the next round and being subjected to whistles, white hankys and cat calls. This kind of behaviour is really quite obnoxious and points to an arrogance whereby the team are subjected to derision if they do not deliver the spanking the home support think they deserve. Pathetic. However you have to say, without justifying the fans, Real were really poor and it seems unlikely that this will be the year when a team retains the Champions League for the first time. It has been a period of real frustration for bobreaksthebookies as Chelsea delivered their poorest display in Europe in quite some time and Hibs somehow contrived to only win by 1 goal against Livingston.
I seem to be putting a hex on teams with the likes of PSV, Wolfsburg, Hibs, Derby and Norwich all ending their tremendous form on the days that I decide to back them. Seriously speaking it has been a rotten run of luck. Bayern routed S Donetsk 7.0 to bring up my handicap bet and luckily I was able to cover Chelsea on 2 occasions. The first instance was when they took a 1.0 lead and again when they took the lead in extra time. Anyone watching the game could see Chelsea were 2nd best all night long despite a man advantage and I sacrificed 0.5 points to cover my stake making this a void bet as you could get 6/1 on PSG to qualify when they were trailing. Given that Bayern were safe and Chelsea were playing so poorly this was as they say, a no brainer and in the end I stake 4 points to return 3.85 points. If they had won it would have been a profit of 3.2 points. In my other bet, Hibs took an early lead and somehow failed to score again until they had been pegged back to 1.1 despite dominating the game. Ultimately their 2.1 win was not enough and I think it is the last time I will be following @mrfixit in his tips. This is @bobreaksthebookies and I will admit to being convinced on the bet because of his write up and I don’t want to do this again when I feel like I lost money because of someone else. Tonight sees Europa League action with 8 ties spread across the evening and I will take this afternoon to study the games before posting my suggested bets later today. Here are the fixtures tonight. 1800 CET – Zenit v Torino 1900 CET – Dnipro v Ajax 1900 CET – Wolfsburg v Inter 1900 CET – Bruges v Besiktas 2105 – CET – Everton v DInamo Kiev 2105 – CET – Villareal v Sevilla 2105 – CET – Napoli v Dinamo Mosco 2105 – CET – Fiorentina v Roma My preview for tonight's Champions League matches concluded that Real Madrid will qualify with ease at home to Schalke while Porto will have it much tougher in their encounter with Basel at the Estadio Dragao. I also highlighted Christian Tello (pictured) as a man capable of scoring at big odds of 13/5 anytime or 15/2 to score first for Porto and while I am expecting a close encounter, I do like the chances of the former Barcelona man to score. Porto's odds of a victory are shrinking by the hour with the latest price of 4/9 odds on indicative of what the bookies expect to happen tonight but I'm still not convinced that it is going to be the easy win they expect. So here are tonight's best bets for comparatively low stakes. I didn’t make any bets last night and it was probably just as well as my 2 suggested bets fell short as Arsenal claimed a 2.1 victory against a poor United side. I began to favour the Gunners closer to kick-off and in the end decided to avoid it and enjoy what was a decent match in the end. I will not bet on every day just for the sake of it and today seems kind of similar in that respect. There are some games to study although not many so we shall see if I am able to come up with something that is worth doing a single or double on. The Champions League returns tonight with Real Madrid against Schalke from the Bernabeu and Porto and Basel lock horns in Portugal with the home side favourites to progress having secured a 1.1 draw in Switzerland a few weeks ago. Rangers play their first game since the dramatic overthrowing of the board last week and a full crowd is expected at Ibrox tonight for the visit of Queen of the South and I expect some kind of reaction from a group of players devoid of confidence and perhaps even, dare I say it, heart or ability. There are 1 or 2 fixtures from England as well but my focus will be on the 2 Champions League ties. Here are the previews. Tonight sees our the last of the FA Cup quarter final ties as Man Utd host Arsenal in a classic grudge match which brings back memories of their famous semi-final in 1999 which United won to maintain their dream of winning a famous treble. And we all know what with that. Tonight’s game is unlikely to be even half as exciting as that one but is still pretty good fare for a Monday when most of us are nursing the Monday blues. Nothing like a cracking cup tie between two of the best teams in the country to get you over the hump. There are also 2 matches from Serie A and 1 from La Liga but I will be keeping the stakes low if indeed I do make any bets on these matches as it has been a hard weekend and I want to maintain my focus for the singles and doubles.
Here are my previews for tonight’s action. Sunday was another day where I highlighted multiple winners but sadly went for 2 of my losing bets as the “sexy single” and “deadly double” – my ability to pick winners is undoubted but now I need some luck in picking the right ones for the big bets.
I was able to cover Napoli on my tasty treble after they went 2 goals ahead of inter with just 25 minutes to play. I sacrificed 0.25 points at 14/1 just in case Inter fought back and fight back they did to claim an unlikely draw. I would have won 4.7 points had they held on but the cover option (bearing in mind my first 2 legs of the treble were winners) allowed me to reclaim. 3.75 Points. Sunday's are usually a good day for Bo but this weekend the action is limited with only the one game coming from England as Liverpool host Blackburn in the FA cup. There are also 2 Scottish cup quarter final ties as Hibs host minnows Berwick where they are expected to win easIly while Celtic face a more difficult assignment away to Dundee Utd. Across Europe there are some decent games but it is not going to be too easy to find winners from this coupon. There are 20 games to consider, including Liverpool's quarter final as well as action from Italy, Germany, Holland and France. We even have some MLS action as Kaka and David Villa go head to head in the battle of the new franchises, Orlando City and New York CIty, live on Sky Sports at 9pm which could be an interesting spectacle. Well it was another day of frustration as I landed countless suggested bets but I flopped in the Bundesliga and in Holland.
In England, the only suggested bet that did not win was BTTS at Aston Villa. All of my other 7 "suggested bets" landed. I correctly picked out BTTS at Wolves, Forest and QPR while also picking away day winners in Sheffield Wednesday and Norwich while also picking the draw at Bradford and over 2.5 goals in the Norwich game. My English football previews were about as good as it gets as I even managed to avoid Derby who conceded 2 goals in injury time to blow a 2 goal lead and I also got 3 correct scores in the games at QPR, Wolves and Blackpool. I have done a lot of studying for today's gameS, in particular in Germany and Holland and I am very much hoping it is going to be a Super Saturday for @bobreaksthebookies with my focus turning to the continent for many of my best selections.
So here are my best bests for Saturday, with a full 10 points staked. (fingers crossed) There are still between 4 and 5 hours til kick off across Europe today and I still need to finalise my selections but here are all of my suggested bets for today with my "best bets" to come in a few hours. I've previewed all the Bundesliga action in a seperate preview but there are a number of other European games across the leagues with most of these fixtures coming in the evening. So if you still fancy a bet after we smash the bookies in the afternoon (#BOlievers) there are plenty of games coming from Holland, Italy and Spain to consider in the evening. Here are my previews and suggested bets for the best of the rest across the west of Europe :) Having suffered badly at the hands of Norwich on Wednesday and having won not a dime despite succesfully predicting every game (7 of them) in the Premier League I decided to take a little break with there being not too many games on Thursday and Friday.
However, for those of you following me on twitter you will have seen that I tweeted (Stupid word) a 12/1 winner in Mo Salah to score first for Fiorentina last night and I followed that up by tweeting a 10/1 treble on Stuttgart to draw, and BTTS in the games at Fulham and Toulouse. Sods law as they say. #BOliever Bonanza Coupon
400/1 Odds ADO Den Haag to score 2 or more goals Augsburg v Wolfsburg - BTTS and over 2.5 goals Aston Villa v WBA - BTTS Werder Bremen to score 2 or more goals Sampdoria v Cagliari - draw Forest v 'Boro - draw Vitesse v Heracles - Vitesse to win BTTS AND WIN 78/1 Odds Werder Bremen to beat Freiburg Wolfsburg to beat Augsburg ADO Den Haag to beat Heerenveen Good luck! While there may not be much in the way of top class action in England tomorrow, we do have 1 EPL game, 2 FA cup quarter finals and a host of games from the Championship Here is my preview for the EPL and FA cup ties with a preview to follow for the Championship. Bundesliga Fixtures 1530 - Augsburg v Wolfsburg 1530 - Schalke v Hoffenheim 1530 - Hamburg v Dortmund 1530 - Hannover v Bayern M 1530 - Freiburg v Werder Bremen 1830 - Mainz v Moenchengladbach With only 1 game coming from the Premier League this Saturday, I am going to increase my focus on the Bundesliga in Germany with 6 matches available for us to consider. It was a painful night for Bo as not a 1 of my bets were winners despite predicting 9 out of 11 correct winners in my Premier League preview and suggesting 6 winning bets out of 8. You would assume on a night like this that I would at least break even but sadly Norwich let me down in a big way.
Prior to last night’s shocking 1.0 home defeat to Wigan, the Canaries had won 5 of their last 6 at home, scoring 27 along the way. They had also scored 2 0r more goals in 8 of their last 10 while they last failed to hit the net at home in SEPTEMBER! Quite how they managed to lose 1.0 at home to 2nd bottom Wigan is something of a mystery. |
