After a two week absence, The Premier League returns this Saturday and there are seven games on offer with Leicester getting the action under-way as they entertain Stoke in the live lunch-time kick-off from the King Power Stadium.
Liverpool will expect another 3 points when they take on David Moyes West Ham at Anfield while WBA face a crucial home fixture against Huddersfield with relegation looking more and more likely for Alan Pardew's increasingly beleaguered side. Elsewhere, Bournemouth welcome Newcastle to Dean Court while Watford entertain Everton in the live Sky kick-off at 17.30. Here then is the best of the action for Saturday; 15:00 Bournemouth vs Newcastle United - Prediction 2.2 Current Form * Bournemouth have seen BTTS in 6 of their last 7 home league matches * Bournemouth have seen BTTS in 7 of their last 8 league matches * Newcastle have seen BTTS in 6 of their last 8 away league matches * Newcastle have seen BTTS in 4 of their last 5 league matches * Bournemouth have scored 2 goals or more in their last 4 home league matches * Bournemouth have won their last 3 home league matches * Bournemouth have won 4, drawn 3 and lost just 1 of their last 8 league matches * Bournemouth have kept only 2 clean sheets in their last 15 home league matches * Newcastle have scored in 7 of their last 8 away league matches * Newcastle have won 3, drawn 4 and lost just 2 of their last 9 league matches * Newcastle had lost 8 of their previous 9 PL matches * Newcastle have lost only 1 of their last 4 away PL matches * Only 3 points separate these two sides Past Meetings * Bournemouth have won 2 of the last 3 matches against Newcastle * Bournemouth won 1.0 at Newcastle in their most recent meeting Final Verdict Bournemouth have been performing really well in front of their own support in recent weeks and will be confident of taking another 3 points when Rafa Benitez's Newcastle arrive on the south coast this Saturday afternoon. Still, the Geordies have been doing better recently themselves, only losing 2 of their last 9 and I expect BTTS here @4/5 odds with plenty of stats to back up the selection. With the hosts scoring 2 or more in their last 4 home fixtures and winning each of their last 3, we can be confident of Bournemouth finding the net again but with only 2 clean sheets in their last 15 at home, Newcastle will fancy their chances of scoring as well and taking something from what should be a decent contest from Dean Court. A home win is the most expected outcome, priced up at 21/20 but I much prefer the BTTS selection @4/5 with Newcastle taking points in their recent away matches at Palace, West Ham and Stoke while they have also managed to hit the net in 7 of their last 8 away PL matches. Best Bets BTTS @4/5 - 3 stars 15:00 Brighton vs Swansea - Prediction 1.1 Current Form * Brighton have drawn 6 of their last 10 home PL matches * Swansea have drawn their last 5 away matches (all comps) * Just 1 point separates these two sides in the PL Final Verdict We should expect a really close and competitive fixture here with both sides fighting for their lives near the bottom of the table and a share of the spoils seems quite likely when you look at both sides recent respective home and away form. Swansea have improved hugely under their eccentric new boss, Carlos Carvalhal but they have drawn 5 in a row now on the road and with Brighton drawing 6 of their last 10 at home, a draw has to be the call here. Best Bets Draw @11/5 - 1.5 stars 17:30 Watford vs Everton - Prediction 2.1 Current Form * Watford have seen BTTS in each of their last 7 home PL matches * 6 of those 7 also went over 2.5 goals * 28 goals were scored in those 7 matches * Watford scored 2 goals or more in 6 of their last 10 home PL matches * Everton have won only 1 of their last 21 away PL matches * Everton have seen BTTS in their last 4 PL matches * Everton have seen BTTS in 5 of their last 8 away PL matches * Everton have conceded 11 goals in their last 3 PL away matches Past Meetings * 4 of the last 5 meetings saw BTTS * 3 of those 4 also saw over 2.5 goals scored * In fact, 8 of the last 10 meetings went over 2.5 goals * Everton won 3.2 in this season's first meeting between these two sides Final Verdict Watford will be out for revenge when they take on Everton at Vicarage Road on Saturday with the Hornets still feeling the sting of their last match against the blue half of Merseyside, a 3.2 loss at Goodison earlier this season. Indeed, Watford actually lead 2.0 in that fixture before coming unstuck against the Toffees who pulled off a stirrring 3.2 comeback win with all 3 goals coming in the last 20 minutes of the 90 so the home side will certainly be motivated here against a visiting team that have performed woefully in away fixtures over the last 12 months. With Watford scorching Chelsea 4.1 in their last home contest, I fancy the home side to continue their form by scoring 2 goals or more @5/4 in a fixture that usually produces plenty of action with 8 of the last 1 seeing more than 2.5 goals scored while goals have also been a staple of recent Watford matches at Vicarage Road with an average of 4 goals scored in the Hornet's last 7 home fixtures with all 7 seeing BTTS. With Everton also seeing BTTS in each of their last 4 matches, that outcome seems pretty likely again here @4/5 odds. Watford are favourites for the points @23/20 and it's easy to see why with Everton winning only 1 of their last 21 away PL matches but Watford have only won 4 of their last 15 at home so I won't be picking a winner with goals the way to go in this live teatime kick-off from the Premier League. Best Bets BTTS @4/5 - 3 stars BTTS and over 2.5 goals @11/8 - 1.5 stars Watford to score 2 or more @5/4 - 2 stars Comments are closed.
